We have a thin gap between a metal tile edge and a tile. Would this set well and fit into cracks and be fully waterproof with daily showers?

This compound is very strong and would do the job if you are okay with a black shiny finish between tile and metal edge. It mixes to quite a thin runny liquid but starts to go hard within minutes, so may not be easy to apply over a long section. While it would be waterproof and very strong, a good alternative would be a good quality silicone sealant of the same or close colour to the tile grout. It should be a mould free variety.

Does it work as a filler?

When you initially mix the two parts the compound becomes a sticky liquid form and begins to harden. If you intending to use it as a filler it will pour out of any area that's not horizontal. It's primary is to bond but it will fill small gaps that are flat...

Does it remain black after sanding?

From what I can remember when I used it it was a dark grey/black colour when sanded down. It can be painted over.
