Works well on a silver ring. At first I didn’t adjust it enough, and then I over did it a little. I’d recommend only using half the total expand capacity at first, leaving it at that for a couple of days (well, that’s what I did) and then removing to try on for size. I used a mallet to hammer it in, and a bolt in the other end to help get it out (it will be stuck). Repeat / increase with caution :)

I was quoted just under £600 to make my wedding ring one size larger as it's a patterned gold band. I used this tool and tentatively (I took my time over the space of an hour) managed to make it at least one size bigger. The one tip I would give is find something like a large bolt so you can hammer the centre spindle back out as (unless you're the Hulk) you can't pull it back out by hand. Very pleased with the result and the obvious cost saving.

Had 3 rings to stretch: one band, three stone eternity ring and single diamond set ring (quite thick band). Worked fine for two, did several hammer taps in intervals to gradually stretch rings, eternity ring broke with one tap of the hammer! Would not recommend for multiple stone set rings, take it to the jewellers!

Purchased this to stretch a gold ring, placed the ring in position and tapped lightly twice with a rubber mallet, ring broke on second strike, be very careful if you purchase this item or take to a jewellers.

I was quoted £400 to increase the size of my platinum wedding band. 5 minutes with this and it fits like a dream and only cost a tenner!

Not for me, however I can see how it works, but was not suitable for a diamond ring, maybe work with a gold band etc

Its girth is too big for womens finger sizes.

Excellent piece of kit. Ordered two stainless steel rings that came a little to tight so thought I’d try this tool just to see if it was possible to stretch them. Nice surprise when it actually worked. You have to give it a good few clouts then turn your ring and repeat but it took ten minutes, result was a ring that slipped on and off easily. You will need a punch to knock the expander shaft back out but no problems with that as it comes out easily. Would advise smaller hammer if using for gold or silver rings and take small steps, keep trying the ring for size after each tap to both edges of your ring. Remember take your time on gold etc. But if it does s/steel then it will do literally anything
