Always wary
I'm always wary of cheaper products and fall for the "it must be poo if it so much cheaper than others". In this case not so.This is a class product.I have a bog standard, very greasy, tow bar. I was worried this wouldn't fit plus worried how does it work. This arrives and without reading the instructions was able to fit this. It is just a case of flipping the arms over, loop the securing loop over the tow bar ( loop something more expensive don't have) close one side of the cup against the bar, open the rack like a massive pair of scissors. Now here is where you will worry. It gets very stiff now. Make sure you hold the handle down, else it is locked as is. Holding the securing handle put your weight on the handle and push down. This will then lock into position . there is a pin to prevent the unit from coming undone but that would only be via a malfunction. My young 12 year old is able to put this unit on so doesn't need loads of weight just confidence. Now tighten the securing screw at the bottom ( again just for belt and braces)Where the locking pin is located I now use a long padlock to lock the unit on to my car1 the rack can't be removed with this pin in place and so can be left in situe whilst out cycling2 the bikes can be locked to the rack as it cant be removed. It fold very small? Guessing 6-8" wide, 2" thick, 2'-2'6" long... As said small. It lives in my boot.Only thing it said that I'm sceptical or can't figure is that it supposable can be used whilst towing. Can't figure that out. tilting it when trying to get in my boot, loosen clasp and hold bikes... Only attempt if two of you and when really desperate. I saw a 2 bike version in the range Bolton that was £14 but was no where near as good as this one.I've used this for dips and it is solid. The cars suspension gets a work out as it holds tight with my 13stone of weight.I've had up to now only 2 bikes on it. 2 old steel MTB, took them to the tip. The road there is full of potholes. The unit held steady, then picked up two others from a friend (30kg) plus a scooter.... Perfect.I bought some elasticated straps too make sure everything stayed in place...All in all, if you have any doubt..... Don't have any... Just buy this its perfectOthers that look the same may not be.... As said saw one in the flesh that looked identical until a proper look at revealed cheaper clasps, pins etc... Play safe and get from here.

Great product for price
Lightweight but of a reasonably good quality. Clamps on the towball securely and I have put most of my body weight on to test for rigidity and that it doesn't slip off the tow ball or have any lateral movement. I incidentally have a grease free tow ball, I don't think a greasy ball would help as it relies on friction! 3 bikes do fit on, but better as a 2 bike rack. You will probably need to buy a trailer board to legally use this rack, however these can be picked up now for about £15 plus a number plate, so factor this in before you buy. Packs down to a smallish size and I am keeping in the boot as a just in case. Good news, no assembly required as it all folds up in its box and opens out without any fiddly nuts and bolts. I believe the description states this can be used when towing. I cannot see how unless you undo the bottom bracket and attach onto the towball and bolt through but being in the caravan trade, I would not recommend this.

Avoid
Doesn't work with our towbar.....seems flimsy and not convinced it will last. Returned at our expense unfortunately

Good Carrier For Money
I was a little unsure about purchasing this carrier due to being concerned how secure it would be on the tow-ball. I had read other reviews so i decided to try it for the money. The carrier arrived quickly. After unpacking it looked pretty robust, but was unsure about it fitting securely. I attached it to the tow-ball and after following the instructions tested it by putting my weight (12 st) onto it and it didn't budge. I got it to carry 2 bikes which it will do quite easily. The only downside is depending on the style of your bike the bike can slope to one side which is the only problem I noticed when you went over large speed bumps, one of the wheels would catch on the ground, this was easily solved by removing the wheel, which isn't ideal but for the price and overall product is a minor inconvenience . the only other slight downside is you are unable to open the tailgate when the rack is attached. Overall I would recommend this product, for value for money and sturdiness.

Its good, but not great
I have attached this to a VW Passat Estate.I have a removable tow bar.Easy to set up.Clamps to my towbar ball like a vice.Safe and secure and no wobbling.ProFits perfectCan manage to get my bike onCould get 2 bikes onConNo way will it take 3 adult bikesI have managed to secure my adult bike, but by fiddling. See imageNot secured how it is designed, but worksIf the arms would swing left and right my bike would correct.Do i like it? YesWould i buy again? YesAm i completely happy with it? NoFor £25 it fits my purpose. My bike is a smidge too small or not quite big enough for the way it is designed. I think a mountain bike would fit just right

Good cycle holder for a good price
Fits fairly easily (if not that quickly) to my tow bar and still allows me reasonable visibility out of the rear window. I have fitted 2 adults bikes to it with out any problems but have not yet needed to try 3 but think it looks just about possible. Used it to transport bikes to the Lake district and back from London without any problems and did not notice any obvious change in fuel consumption either. The only downside is that it does block access to the boot and it is not possible to take the rack of with the bikes attached (at least no way that I have yet discovered) so boot access when transporting 2 bikes can be a somewhat drawn out (taking the carrier off) or acrobatic (clambering over the back seat) process.Overall however, very pleased with it, especially for the price.
