Queen of The Damned [DVD] [2002]

Quite old but never forgotten! I still have this film!

Brilliant movie. 👏

One of the most amazing films that I have ever seen. Admittedly, it was very different from the book, but understandably so. It was rivating from start to finish and had a brilliant soundtrack and score. You empathise completely with the characters and the story line isn't your normal vampire horror film. The actor who played Lestat (Stuart Townsend) created a very believable character, not to mention gorgeous.Lestat is a vampire who decides to be a rock star, he spreads the vampire's secrets out through his music. The other vampires are not happy about this. Add a pretty love intrest, a homocidal queen, a secret society and you have Queen of the damned.The film is one of my favourites and if I could give it more than five stars I would. I seriously recomend this film to any one. The music is enough to see it for.

All I can say is "Suck it and see" - you may just be captivated as I was.Having owned Aaliyah's Age Aint Nothing but a Number on vinyl for far more years that I care to remember, I bought this to check out the one Aaliyah film I had never caught on tv.What I never expected was to be drawn into a beautiful, thought provoking and very different love story with an amazing sound track which does justice to a good quality surround system. There were so many beautiful sets, and did I spot a Giacometti sculpture in one of them?You may hate it, but there again, you may well find it a little gem as I did.

I first saw this movie years ago and was quite impressed, I didn't get why everyone went on about interview with a vampire, saying how great it is, coz I thought it sucked (no pun inteneded), Brad Pitt was good as louie, but that was it, it wasn't impressive at all apart from how good he was at the whole tortured, broody vampire thing. Queen of the damned has leather, and a great soundtrack, yes they make the vampires look a bit strange, and they wear some strange clothes, but it is still a good movie. It is different from the book and thank god, coz the book was bloody awful!! I couldn't finish it coz it was terrible, I don't get the whole anne rice, laurell k hamilltan hype, coz they're far fetched and stupid, and you couldn't imagine any of that happening at all, that is if you found out vampires were real.

A cult classic for a reason! The cast are amazing and it's a well written plot, leaving the viewer gripped. The characters are amazing.Lestat has awoken & decides to become the closet thing to God on earth - a rock star! His music reawakens the queen of all vampires, who only wants destruction on earth. This is a must for all those who love the vampire genre

I remember watching this when I was younger & ever since it has been in the back of my mind - big retailers such as HMV or play.com didn't sell this product - I'm presuming as it's one of those films that fade with time - well I'm glad you sold it to me & it was really cheap too.

Good movie about a vampire who wants publicity. It's based on the book by Anne Rice and if you've read that book do not expect a completely faithful movie. Most of the changes shouldn't bother you unless you're a die hard fan, which I am not. I didn't like they made Marius the vampire who made Lestat though, at least at first, though subsequent viewings have dimmed my irritation about the change in in these characters history. Again, I can say this because I'm not a huge fan of the vampire chronicles. I've read some of them and liked them but Lestat and Marius were my favourite characters so having a movie that ties them both together is actually good for me.The acting is good and while the new Lestat (Stuart Townsend I believe) is ok in the role, he's no Tom Cruise which is unfortunate because he set the standard soooo high it was almost impossible for Townsend to meet it. The accent in this movie seems much more French? than in Interview with the Vampire, where it was more American with an accent implied occasionally.Basically, this is a fun vampire story that takes some of your favourite characters and revs them up a bit. You don't have to be a Chronicles fan or reader to enjoy this movie either, it does well as a stand alone movie even if you've never heard of any of the characters. Perhaps better that way because you won't have any expectations. If it's cheap, a few pounds, I say go for it, it's a good way to pass some time if the price is right.

DO NOT BUY! In order to play the DVD you have to change the region code on your Play Station (which can only be changed a handful of times). I’m not sure if this affects playing it through a DVD player or smart TV but I’m not happy either way.

It is a great film. The music and sound track is Amazing. shows a more modern look at Vampires before then newer series out there.

Llevaba tiempo buscándola y está a un precio inmejorable. Para colmo, mientras me lo pensaba, me lo bajaron aún más. ¡Fabuloso!

Eine wirklich super Vampir-Musik Verfilmung. Ein etwas anderer "Vampir-horror-fim"aber einfach weiter zu empfehlen. Viel besser als "Interview with a Vampire" und ich versichere Ihnen, nach diesem Film gehen sie an den Computer und bestellen auch noch die Musik CD zum Film. Ich kann nur sagen 5 Sterne sind zu wenig und lassen sie sich angenehm überraschen.
