BrosTrend AC1200 WiFi Dongle, USB WiFi Adapter for PC Windows 11/10/8.1/8/7

Very easy to install, including the drivers from the enclosed mini CD. Instructions are clear and simple. I am using it on a Win 10 tower desktop PC, connected to a USB 2 port. I do not have a Wireless card installed. I needed to have WiFi as the Powerline ethernet connection was only giving me half the speed, approx. 35Mbps. With this WiFi USB dongle I now reach 70Mbps download speed, the same as on my iPad. My problem very easily solved and I am very pleased.

I've used Belkin on and off for years and I've had a few failures with different hardware. So this time I thought I'd try something different, and I'm glad I did. The BrosTrend 1200Mbps USB WiFi Network Adaptor works like a charm and keeps a constant signal between my PC and my router when all the ones I've had before have needed pulled out and plugged back in to get Windows to see them (randomly) until they fail. Not once have I had to do that with this model. It's not going to magically make my PC faster (given that my internet speeds are average at best), but it hasn't had any negative effects whatsoever. No fails is a win! :) As with anything you buy, read the manual, don't expect miracles and just enjoy hassle free wireless - as it should be.

Not a plug and play device. This comes with an installation cd but I don't have a cd drive so I went to the website. The instructions included with the product aren't great, consisting of "Go to website, get driver, install driver" where the website has rather a lot of stuff there, the drivers are not front and centre and the instructions for the driver resulted in a "This product is not compatible with your OS" message. Not great at all. However, upon being told it didn't work, I turned on Wi-fi and... you guessed it, it worked. So pretty quick to set-up but not a fun process at all really. The product works as advertised, admittedly I'm only about 3 feet away from my router (I bought this to make the PC more portable) but I can't tell the difference between wired and unwired now. If they put better/accurate driver instructions in the box/on the website (front and centre please) to make it a more pleasant experience, I'd give this 5 stars.

I bought it for my nephews birthday, he is into gaming. He always complains about slow WiFi, so I gave it for his birthday. After a few days he called me and he was very impressed with the USB WIFI dongle. He said that it’s fast, easy to install, it has wide WIFI range cover, he’s gaming computer it is set up on the top floor where he usually didn’t have very good WIFI coverage. Now he is weary happy and thankful for the birthday present. I’m very happy too, he is my favourite nephew. It’s great value for the money . Great product.

All the info on Amazon implies that this is a plug+play device. It isn’t, you need to install or download drivers & that is tricky; there were several false starts before it would install. There were error messages like No File Destination or Doesn’t Work This System ( yeah … right … Win 10 !!! ). You need knowhow & persistence to get it working. The size is an issue too, about the way it protrudes, you need extra desk space & careful handling; not ideal for working in bed (for example). Once you’re past these issues tho it does exactly what it claims & gives a strong, reliable signal; even past the I-Beams that Farraday Cage my flat.

EDIT: Unfortunately my excitement wanes. While this dongle performs well on close range wifi, that's all it can do! It can't see the million wifis around my room that my laptop+2 phones can see with ease (and at close to 3+ bar signal). It's only able to see the wifi that's literally a few feet away without any obstruction. Utterly disappointed as this means I now have to buy another one that can find the wifi for desktop. Second issue: it's been dropping the connection every now and then from the 3 feet away wifi router even. Money wasted.. Stars dropped to as low as amazon would let me! Original review: Just got this dongle . Popped it into USB 3.0 slot of my laptop (just to compare it with my laptops own Intel AC connection), and it performed right off the bat. The drivers were auto installed by Windows 10 (fully updated with most recent updates as of this writing including Windows Insider updates). The card was auto recognised as "Realtek 8812AU Wireless LAN 802.11AC USB NIC". Given the number of options I can see on in the advanced properties section, this seems like a pretty capable chipset but I still have to run it through its paces when I'll get home. So far on my office connection its performed very well and stable at about 10 meters far on 5GHz band but my home pc is going to be the real test. I'll update the review if things change drastically otherwise so far very happy with the device given the price paid for it. One minor quibble: the USB dongle has blue link light that blinks to indicate wifi activity. For me this was really distracting and I'm going to tape it to block the light. Something to keep in mind but nothing worth taking a star off for.

Really impressed with this adapter, especially for it's size. I was using an old Netgear adapter limited to 54Mbps which was actually translating into 500Kbps-1Mbps for downloads. But after plugging this into my USB 3.0 port and downloading the drivers the difference is incredible. My top speed wired directing into the router downstairs is 62Mbps and I was surprised that I was matching those speeds on my PC upstairs with zero to negligible slow down using this adapter. Easy to setup, plug in, download software, choose network and that's it.

Wanted a WiFi dongle for smart TV.. worked after going to setting+ network.. also worked in home pc.. So bonus. Best little stick

Got it to make my PC work with my wireless network without needing to buy an internal card. Installation is you plug it in and install the drivers from the mini-cd. After a couple minutes it was up and integrated into windows, so super easy to use. I have my wifi router right next to the computer, so can't speak for the range, but compared to a wired connection, no noticeable change in connection speed. The other day must have pumped about 10GB worth of video and audio through it back to back via internet with it being so responsive I had to check if it was still wired or wireless. It was wireless. At short range no difference observed for a 60mbps connection. I like that unlike an internal card with limited compatibility I can hook it into any machine with a USB port. Haven't had it for long yet, but so far it does exactly what I got it for to a high degree of excellence: remove the LAN wire from the PC without loss of connection speed so the printer can be a network resource that my other devices can print directly to. Works well, mission accomplished.

Exactamente lo que dicen. Ni más, ni menos. De hecho, lo he probado con un portátil y no pierde nada con respecto a la tarjeta de Wifi propia del ordenador. Por ponerle una pega, es un poco ancho, y para conectarlo, si tienes más cosas enchufadas al lado, puede dar problemas.

De stick ,elf werkt prima de verbinding is goed, maar reden dat ik het een miskoop vind, als ik volgende dag de pc aanzet werken de drivers niet meer en moet ik ze uitstallen en weer opnieuw installeren en opnieuw de wificode invoeren en dat dagelijks steeds doen is echt te omslachtig, en heb de nieuwste drivers van internet.

Plug & Play, la inserisci nella presa USB (meglio se 3.0) e si installa da sola all'istante (Windows 10). Segnale potente e stabile, ricevo 4 tacche su 5 (banda 5 GHz) dietro a 2 pareti, a distanza in linea d'aria di 7 m dal router. Rispetto la Edimax che avevo, vecchia di 3 anni, per me è stato un notevole salto in avanti. Pienamente soddisfatto!
