The Winning Bracket
So, I bought this (different model LGA 1700) for my sons build and I liked how it helped secure the CPU and the aesthetics of it also. So I ended up getting one for my CPU. It fit perfectly! It has also helped my CPU shed some heat better. I've noticed it runs about 5° cooler with this mount versus the MB mount. I know it's not dramatic but but nobody will complain about running a bit cooler on their PC. My desktop was already built by me back in October of 24, so this was a, disassemble, add, reassemble, then play part. It wasn't reasonably difficult to add on after being built. But I will say if your desktop isn't built and your contemplating getting one of these, DO IT! With all the money you already have wrapped up what's another $10? The small price it ensures the CPU is in correct the place, deters the possibility of damage occuring to the pins on the CPU, it helps dissipate heat, and if you get a color different than your MB you will see the accent (I have an MSI 670E gaming + WiFi (silver heat sinks and covers) and a red Thermalright AM5 bracket. My opinion it looks cool being the only red piece and because most of its covered it's not overwhelming, the accent is very subtle. Update: the photos are of the black AMD5 CPU holder as a second build was done and the black holder was used. Still the same great product and review! Second build was an MSI x870e WiFi plus gaming, 7800x3D, and AMD5 Black holder.

Well Worth It
Pretty sweet bit of kit that I’d never even heard of until reading a forum post a few days ago. Can’t say that it really helps with temps, but it fits the CPU perfectly and makes me much more confident than the lever CPU clamp. It makes thermal paste much easier to apply, and keeps it from going where it doesn’t belong. And, as a bonus, it looks sweet. Well worth the price!

No brainer upgrade for any AM5 processors.
I installed the Thermalright ASF-Black AM5 CPU Holder during a recent Ryzen build, and it’s one of those small upgrades that actually makes a noticeable difference. The main reason I picked this up was to prevent CPU bending and improve mounting pressure—and it delivers. The frame replaces the stock retention bracket and applies more even pressure across the CPU, which helps with cooler contact. Since installing it, I’ve seen slightly better and more consistent temps under load, which lines up with what others report about improved thermal performance from better contact. Build quality is excellent for the price. The material feels sturdy, and everything lines up perfectly with the AM5 socket. Installation was straightforward, but I do recommend taking your time and following a guide if it’s your first time—this isn’t difficult, but you are working close to sensitive components. One thing to note: this is definitely more of an enthusiast or “tweaker” upgrade. If you’re not comfortable removing the stock bracket or working around your CPU socket, it might feel intimidating. But for anyone who enjoys optimizing their build, it’s a solid addition. Overall, this is a simple, affordable upgrade that improves mounting pressure, helps protect against CPU warping, and can even give you a small thermal benefit. Definitely worth it if you’re building or upgrading an AM5 system. This is a no brainer upgrade to have for great value

Easy PC mod that makes a difference.
I picked up the Thermalright AM5 CPU Contact Frame along with the included thermal paste, and it made a noticeable difference in my build. Installation was straightforward, and the frame immediately fixed the slight socket bending issue AM5 chips are known for. After installing it on my Ryzen 9 9950X, my mounting pressure improved and my temps became more consistent across all cores. Paired with my Kraken 240 Elite RGB, I’m now seeing 39°C idle and around 54°C max during gaming and normal workloads. The thermal paste spreads easily and performs just as well as higher-end pastes I’ve used before. Build quality is solid, the fit is perfect, and the whole setup feels more secure than the stock retention bracket. For anyone trying to squeeze out a little extra thermal efficiency on AM5 especially with high core count CPUs this frame is absolutely worth it.

Lowered temps by about 4°C
The Thermalright ASF-Black AM5 frame is solidly built and fits well. Installation is simple, and it feels more secure than the stock bracket. In my setup, it reduced temperatures by around 4°C, which is a noticeable improvement under load. Overall, a worthwhile upgrade for better thermals and more stable CPU mounting on AM5 systems.

Cheap Insurance!
I’ll never build another PC without using one of these there’s no reason that it’s cheap piece of mind. It potentially can help with cooling but it makes sure there’s no warpage or leaking of the thermal paste for the 10 bucks well worth it…. The only issue the thermal paste… 2-3 I’ve bought were unusable. So make sure to buy some paste with it

Worth it!
Installed on Gigabyte Aorus X670E motherboard for my Ryzen 9 processor. Made it easy to apply the thermal paste without worrying about it spilling over Definitely reduced CPU temps as latest ryzen processors is known to touch 90 degrees centigrade. Dont know how much since I don't have a base line and my processor has not touched 90 yet Looks much more sleek as compared to the default processor brackets Comes with its own thermal paste (did not use it)..so a spare Built is high quality and hardly to see any gap between processor and holder Increases surface area for larger cooler plates (AIO, air cooler) Suggest to watch videos from YouTube about installation and do not over tighten the holding screws.
