Wool balls. I love saying that.
My mother is a knitter. She's made her own wool balls (God, I hope she doesn't read this review - she's going to be upset) for decades now. I wanted my own wool balls (sorry Mom!) but I don't want to keep bugging her to make me some. She already makes me like 50 wool beanies a year for my shaved head to stay warm in the winters. The quality of these are good. But they are bit less in quality that what mom makes. But if you can't make your own and have a great source for great wool (yes, there is a difference between the wool at Wal-Mart and actual, great wool) these work just as well for a good price. I would/will buy them again once I rundown the ones I have. I like there are 6 balls too, since 3 is enough for my larger dryer, meaning I have another 3 unused when the time comes to replace them.Do they help with cat hair? A bit, it's not a miracle worker. Does it soften clothes? Yes, I hate anything scented. So as a replacement for dryer sheets or fabric softeners, yes, excellent for that. Does it help dry faster? I like to think so, but since I set the dryer and wander off for a couple hours I don't really know.

They are still great. I use them every time I do laundry
I bought these over a year ago. They are still great. I use them every time I do laundry. They are a little smaller than some brands (other set I used before this one were about 20% larger and more perfectly round) but the exact size and shape of these do not affect their use. They are holding up well and they keep our clothes soft and low in static.I will note that in the coldest part of a minnesota winter, our clothes still do come out with a little static. These are not as powerful at static control as dryer sheets, but they still do a fairly good job for a chemical-free option. If you use vinegar in your wash and these dryer balls in the dryer, that combined works for all but the very worst/dryest part of winter for us.

Saves money
I purchased these smiley face dryer balls to replace dryer sheets and to cut down drying time. They do help with drying time. Theyโve retained their shape and consistency after several months of use. There is a lot of static in the laundry using only the dryer balls. They tend to get caught in different articles, sometimes causing the fabric to twist around the ball and remain damp.

Bittersweet
I had high hopes. They work better in large capacity dryers. My friends with regular capacity dryers are finding they aren't working to cut static at all. I use unscented detergent so essential oil in the balls is going to be needed. My son wears 100% cotton jeans and they do a good job of softening them, but not nearly as good as fabric softener. They do not control static in bed linens at all. I even used all six balls. I am happy with them on shirts and sweaters. But, really not what I expected. It's not the fault of the seller, no problem there.

Perfect for cutting down dryer time
Purchased after a friend suggested I buy some to cut down on dryer time, they work great! I've used them for 2 weeks now and have no complaints. It used to take me hours to dry one load of laundry (living overseas), but with these most loads only take one cycle. I add a few drops of essential oil on them before tossing them in the dryer and they add a nice light scent to the laundry.

They are fun, and my dog loves when I pull one ...
I'm not sure these actually work. I've had them for awhile and I haven't noticed a difference in the static in my dryer or the drying time decreased. They are fun, and my dog loves when I pull one out of the dryer on accident. **UPDATE** I don't know how to tell how many loads they have gone through, but I don't think they work. My clothes are still full of static.

Gives electric super powers?
We tried these for a few months, but the it doesn't seem to get the static out as well as regular dryer sheets. Also, my wife and I have developed a minor level of electric powers, and I can't confidently say it wasn't because of these dryer balls. I shock most things I end up touching now, and even a co-worker of mine recently claimed to have the same issue so apparently I'm contagious.

These balls are pretty amazing, my apartment dryer sucks to the point where I have to dry my clothes 2 cycles. I use all 6 all the time and plan on ordering more: one for colors and one for darks. They have successfully cut my drying time down to one cycle, maybe one and a half if I do a rather large load. My wallet thanks you for helping the electric bill come down
