Can the bracket be slipped over a metal post? if so what diameter of post?

it is not possible to slip this over a post, it will need to be mounted directly onto the post

How easy is this to clip and unclip to allow people through?

It's very easy, just slides on and off. It does have a little turn plate under the clip to hold it in place if you dont want anyone to unclip it at anytime.

Hi - does the belt on this stay out until you give it another tug to unlock it - and then it rewinds, or does it just rewind all the time ? Thanks
