The one i bought didn't have the hole drilled in the centre of tool. has anybody bought one the same? i'm wondering if it's genuine festool.

Will it remove paint runs off any metal object (not just car body)? Thank you in advance!

Sorry I only use this on auto paint so any answer would be speculative. Also paint runs on a car would under clear coat which complicates things further. If and when used correctly this tool shaves a small layer from the defect until the surface is flat. Sanding and polishing reduces the defect significantly and sometimes completely. Depending on what you are planning to use it on this must be considered. Hope this helps.
