How does it actually fit to the base plate? I cant get it to stay on thanks

You fix the plate to your chosen surface with the appropriate fixings then the hook part fits over the plate. There is a tiny grub screw, that fits in a hole in the middle of the base side, that you tighten fully. This holds everything secure. If you are still having problems, make sure you have the back plate around the right way.

I received my item and it is back not stainless steel?

Yes it’s not stainless steel, however I’ve found it’s fine in the bathroom and doing it’s job well.

What size drill bit is required for this product if drilling into a tiled surface?

My partner says 5.5 or 6mm and use red rawl plug
