great book!
Great book, really liked the description of techniques, timing and progress charts. More suitable to high-level skaters, but also useful for intermediate ones who want to achieve a good level of fitness

very complicated technical vocabulary and style
The service was superb - the book arrived within dates specified and that before Christmas. As for the book itself, it is VERY technical and feels more suitable for coaches than for those learning to skate, unless they are proficient in technical vocabulary and style. It was definitely was not suitable for my 11 year old daughter who is NISA Level 2. We are trying to make use of it: my husband, who was teaching sports in the past, is trying to read it and explain things to our skater but it's tough going.

A must have for coaches and pupils
Not only being an ice skating coach but also a qualified circuit training instructor I found this book an excellent guide for on and off ice training. So good in fact I leant it to a collegue who now also agrees how good it is and is going to by her own!!. It covers everything from stretching, plyometrics and off ice conditioning to on ice stamina training, competition preperation, heart rate monitoring and tons tons more. The best ten pound you could spend to further your knowledge.
