When i unlock it turns nearly all the way round before unlocking is this right?

From memory, there are two dots that need to line up, you might need to unscrew the lock and turn the mechanism 180 degrees.

Can I reverse the catch to use on an open out door?

Don’t buy for an outwardly opening door. The lock can be reversed but the catch is only suitable for an inward opening door
