several possible reasons. #1 your cookware is not capable of being used for induction cooking. If unsure try to put a magnet on the bottom, if it sticks you should be good. #2 cookware is not placed properly on the device. Make sure pot /pan is centered on the cooktop. #3 cookware was removed while the devise was still on. Turning off and back on should resolve. #4 possible blown fuse on the device. You will need to check your fuse and replace if necessary. #5 outlet it is plugged into cannot supply the required power. If the above does not help try contacting support at Nuwave.

What is the warranty ??

No 100% sure on factory, but I bought the 3 year asurion plan for like $6-8? The way I read it, its basically a "anything happens, return it for replacement " warranty.
