Netatmo Rain Gauge for Weather Station, NRG01-WW, Accessory

This is the second rain gauge I have bought; the first was destroyed by a Tesco delivery van. The previous unit has worked well for a couple of years and is an excellent addition to my weather station. I am not sure of the absolute accuracy, but it is a reliable indicator if the rain is very heavy or light. Simple and robust construction - but I recommend installation away from rogue delivery vehicles.

Works a treat! Make sure you secure it firmly though. I had simply placed it on top of a flat shed roof but high winds blew it straight off. It smashed on the concrete patio but I managed to put it back together and got it to work again. Lucky I guess so I've now fastened it to a house brick using two screws through the base. Placed that back on the shed roof and it has stayed there right through the winter. Seems to be quite accurate compared with my old fashioned mechanical rain gauge in the garden. You get alerts on your iPhone when the rainfall reaches a certain limit. Recommended.

I bought the rain gauge as a final addition to my Netatmo weather set-up. As with the other elements the device was perfectly packaged and very well constructed. Installing it took only minutes on an existing bracket and pole used for the wind monitor and connection to the wi-fi network was straightforward. Since then there hasn't been much rain ! What little there has been has registered apparently accurately so I'm entirely happy with the gauge and indeed the complete weather station.

Excellent addition to my weather station. Finding a place to mount the gauge was the most difficult part! It needs to be clear of anything that may cause a 'rain-shadow', trees, houses, fences etc and within range of the base unit. In the end I installed a post in the middle of the garden that positions the gauge in clear space and above all planting. Seems to work a treat. Make sure you install the gauge absolutely level as the tipper mechanism relies on this. Basically the funnel takes the water to a tipping bucket switch in the centre of the unit, when the little bucket is full, it tips to the side and the second bucket fills up, empties and then repeats itself. I think each "tip" of the bucket indicates 0.3mm of rainfall.

Quite impressed with its accuracy and simplicity but there are a few simple things Netatmo could do to help. Very easy to set up and then leave.There's mounting kit with it at all. I put it on a small portable camera tripod and used cable ties to mount that on to a post at about 4 feet. Don't put it in a hole I the ground as someone indicated as splashing will distort the results as will placing it too close to buildings.Netatmo should explain the standards required to make their network much more precise. For example it's obvious looking at their map that many people Moir temporary gauge in the sun - 40 C in U.K.in May anyone?If like me, your geeky enough to want a weather station I am sure you also want good comparability of results.

Got a Netatmo weather station last year for xmas, excellent kit works well no problems. Added the Anenometer and Rain Guage this year, big mistake. The cosmetic quality and feel was very good, these are expensive items but neither "add on" worked. The rain guage just would not connect to the weather station no matter what I did so waste of time and money straight off there. The Anenometer connected to the base station and worked OK but constantly reported a flat battery (despite trying new batteries several times including the factory fitted ones) the sensor was not working. This means that the thing emails every half an hour demanding the battery is changed ASAP. So most of Xmas day was spent by me climbing ladders and faffing about with these items pointlessly, my wife didn't get her Xmas present, returning both to Amazon who "cannot replace them" and will refund the cash. Both of these items dead on arrival with critical faults looks suspicious to me, purporting to be quality "smart" devices the ones I got are bug ridden rubbish and wasted a lot of my time and patience. I won't be buying anything from this bunch of clowns again.

Small, functional but a little too light as it can be blown over by strong winds. I have mounted mine on a small foldable plastic tripod as I don't want to risk a full sized tripod out in the rain. It would be good if Netatmo sold a spike with a ¼" thread so that the gauge can be mounted at a reasonable height without fear of splashing causing bad readings. Over all this is a neat device and it can also be calibrated relatively easy although listening for the click when the internal buckets flip is somewhat difficult. It is easy to link to your Netatmo weather station system.

It is not clear that this item cannot be used without the Smart Weather Station

This is a great product. Have had Netatmo for over 8 years and just had to replace the rain gauge. Works great and is very accurate

Funkar bra till Netatmosystemet. Glöm inte att kalibrera mätaren innan du börjar använda den, dvs glöm inte att läsa instruktionsboken.

Funziona benissimo e fa quanto ci si aspetta, forse un po costoso, ma se si aspetta il momento giusto si compra ad un prezzo accetrtabile. Installato facilmente. Appena possibile inizierò anche a creare qualche routine per sfruttarlo al meglio.

Bon complément à la station météo NetatmoPetit bémol pour l'installation,j'ai dû m'y reprendre à plusieurs fois, la station ne "voyait" pas le capteur de pluie, mais avec un peu de patience et persévéranceFonctionne très bien et je suis alerté à chaque pluie, ce qui ne manque pas d'arriver depuis quelques temps, mais je recommande

Ich habe die Basisversion, plus Wind- und Regenmesser.Alles funktioniert einwandfrei und das Verbinden mit der Innenstation funktionierte schnell und war unkompliziert. Was ich sehr gut finde ist die Möglichkeit jedes Teil nochmal zu kalibrieren und so auf den Standort z.B. Höhe einzustellen. Die App hilft dabei sehr gut.
