Unfortunately I found like my other switch Bot products at home I have problems with it maintaining a connection with the hub

Was a little tricky to set up via the app but got there in the end. The distance view is quite good, and although there is a 3 second delay, it’s enough to keep a check on my property. It has an alarm and a microphone/speaker so you can deter unwanted visitors. The only downside is the adhesion isn’t strong enough for outdoors. As a renter I don't want to start drilling holes in my outside walls. The battery lasts a while and the night mode is helpful. Sometimes though I find it detects a human when there’s no one there which can be frustrating. Sometimes it doesn’t detect anyone at all, not even me! The mount is good and it looks a nice & neat little piece together, but just beware, because it’s only a holder the camera can be taken out easily.

I've had nothing but trouble from this camera, I get 1 frame of image every 3 seconds if im lucky on both live playback and recorded on memory card, which means I can't see what's happening which is the whole point, the alerts don't work either so if someone does come to where its looking I have no idea unless I check the app manually. Contacted switchbot as there's no issues like signal or settings and they say it's a firmware problem (after suggesting it's a hardware issue) they are aware of that's causing the camera to not work as intended or be fit for purpose...but they still sell them!! They said send it back and i can have 30% of what i paid for it upon its return, horrible service! Don't get one of these for a long time!

Excellent camera but sadly not compatible with Amazon Alexa despite Smartbot customer services and technical support trying to fix the problem, hopefully this problem will be resolved .... will update if and when this happens. UPDATE As promised SmartBot resolved this problem quicker than they said .... excellent product and customer service, I will be adding more to my home security

* FIRST IMPRESSIONS I've been wanting to get a decent battery-powered outdoor cam for a while but I've always been put off by the fact that you need to drill holes with most of them. As a renter I'm not allowed without the landlord's consent so it's nice to see SwitchBot coming up with mounting alternatives. The box contained the 2 mounting options, screws and sticker for smooth surfaces or windows and USB cable. * SETUP I went for the window setup with the sticker (which is insanely sticky by the way!). The camera mount then needs to be screwed to the sticker. When I put the cam in the mount, I didn't think it could fall at any time. I was also super hard to remove that sticker when I decided to return the camera (read more below). Once mounted, the camera needs to be turned ON with a button located at the back of the camera. The app setup was very easy and took less than 5 minutes. * PICTURE QUALITY The picture quality is very decent for a 1080p camera. I'm not really bothered about the camera not being 2K as I don't think I could notice the difference on a mobile phone anyway. I guess the battery wouldn't last long either with 2K. * APP FEATURES & FUNCTIONS The app is okay, not the best I've seen but it provides basic functions like viewing the feed, recordings, turn Motion ON/OFF, Motion AI settings, Siren, Spotlight and so on. One thing I found quite limited is the App Notifications. It's either everything or nothing. It would have been nice to have separate Notification toggles for Motion Alerts, Battery Status (when running low), Tamper alerts... * MOTION DETECTION Here's when things started to go downhill a bit... I tested the camera with ONLY Human Motion detection and if I would detect humans accurately most of the time in the day, it would also send me false triggers, a human has been detected when in fact nobody was there (see attached pic). I did play with the Motion Sensitivity which resolved it but then reduced the detection range which wasn't what I wanted. Finally, I found that the camera would not often detect me at night unless I was right in the center field of view of the camera. It could be due to how Night Vision works and doesn't perfectly capture people in the corners when it's dark but I found that quite frustrating considering that some break-ins could also happen at night! * NIGHT VISION As described above, Night Vision in itself isn't bad in terms of picture quality but it fails to cover the whole field of view and corners, leading to missed motions. * CONNECTIVITY I've had issues with the live feed failing to load 70% of the time despite showing 90% Signal Strength in the app. The only way to reload it is to either force quit the app or try again. It's very frustrating as the feed seems to be loading very fast other times! * CONCLUSION I really wanted to love this camera but I've unfortunately decided to return it. It definitely shows some potential but not quite there yet in my opinion. Let's hope they can fix those issues with the next version (and HK & HA support please) and I'd definitely consider it again. ➕ Easy to mount for renters! ➕ Great battery ➕ Decent image quality ➕ Alexa & Google Home Support ➖ Feed fails to load a lot of times ➖ Motion Detection hit and miss at night ➖ Can easily be stolen ➖ No HomeKit support ➖ No Home Assistant support

love this item for the price and what it can do i was always wanting it since i heard of it but to be honest having some issues keeping it on my network hopefully this will settle down soon though otherwise works well and fits in with my home needs very well looking forward to the others arriving

I love Switchbot products and own many of them. The first unit that I received was defective. However, after contacting their fantastic customer service, I was given a new camera that now functions perfectly. It is a great camera with decent features. With its sale price, you can't go wrong with it. You have the option of both wired mode or battery mode. The setup is easy, and installation is simple. The only small issue is that it does not have 24/7 recording; however, it does have good motion detection. Lastly, I want to emphasize how amazing the customer service of Switchbot is. They are kind, empathetic, and prompt.

Easy to install and configure. I am using as a people detector to turn on a water fountain !

After 1.5 years the battery doesn't last long at all - would try and have it permanently connected to USB but not the best positioning to do so with the bracket for the camera
