Lodge Silicone Hot Handle Holder for Carbon Steel, Orange

This item is outstanding for what it does. Lodge handles are designed "specifically" to fit Lodge pot/pan products but they will fit other types of cast iron or heavy stainless cookware. In this case, I had purchased through Amazon, some of the cheap "suspect silicone" handles to put on Mauviel cookware. When they arrived, the handles were predictably cheaply made, incredibly flimsy and worse, rotated around the handles so easily when you picked up the pan, just that movement itself became incredibly dangerous. I say all that to say....DON'T buy cheap. Go with these Lodge handles. They're incredibly well-made and fit very snugly or tightly to whatever handles you're putting them on. Lodge cast iron or your Mother's cast iron pans or Mauviel pots and pans, whatever pan.....etc. These handles will fit snugly and don't worry about the length of the handle vs the length of the holder....they'll work in almost all situations. I say almost cause there's bound to be someone with a 47" handle on a submarine grade steel pan that's not happy with this product. HOWEVER, everything being equal, buy this product with complete confidence. They will fit and they do work. Hope this helps.

I have a set of various Made In pots and pans and while I love them, ones that use frequently to toss things with (Carbon steel wok and stainless saucier) are really tough to do properly because the handles are so narrow. I bought a few of them to leave on each of the pans permanently and they're high quality and make the handle a nice thick ess for tossing and manipulating the cookware. The fit is very tight and once you get them on, they're not going anywhere.

This is a relatively nice handle cover. I bought it for a pan that is NOT the brand it was made for. It didn't fit my pan completely but it still worked (as long as you grabbed the part that covered the handle and not the extra bit you couldn't push on anymore). I'm going to assume the fit would be better with the brand it's made for. It's firm and has enough thickness to cover the handle to manage the heat and give stability.

Much longer than the handle on my cast iron pans so be mindful of that when using.Also difficult to get on the handle.

Fits perfectly on the carbon steel pan I just bought. Helps with grip and protects my hand from the heat. Seems durable.

These handles are well made and durable, made of a solid material without any air pockets that would save on manufacturing costs, are easy to clean inside and out due to this too. There are no places for gunk to build up. Grips well, good temperature resistance and grip when your hands or pan get grease or oil spattered on it. Good protection for your hands from the hot handle. But I had to put zip ties around it to hold it on the handle of my new Lodge 10" skillet. If I held the pan with the handle pointing down this handle cover would practically fall off. If I hold the handle holder with the pan down the pan will fall out of it, unless you remember to grip it harder so the pan handle doesn't fall out. It doesn't fit tight enough to be effective. Other reviewers mention installing it upside down, but that leaves wide channels water and oil will get into, and then the grippy part is on the wrong side. Surprisingly though it fits my Merten & Storck 8" skillet and Winco 9.5" carbon steel skillet perfectly. Nice and snug and doesn't come off unless you're trying to pull it off on purpose. And is lightweight enough that it doesn't cause either of those lighter weight pans to tip toward the handle. But I can't give the handle a good rating based on it fitting pans it's not even made for. If you do the zip tie fix as I did I suggest using two. Just in case one zip tie breaks due to heat or deterioration while you're carrying the pan right over your toes. And make it the right amount of snug so you can pull the handle off still to use it on a fire or oven.

Fits the handle of our Lodge carbon steel pan perfectly. Fairly easy to push all the way onto handle and remains securely in place without moving or slipping. Flat design will keep it from twisting, and ribbing will keep it firmly in hand!
