I think this bulb is doing its job. I use it with one of my heat lamp shades and hang it from the ceiling fan in whatever room I need to sanitize. It comes in a styrofoam sleeve that makes it easy to put in the lamp without touching the bulb (because you aren't supposed to touch them...the oils on your fingers can damage the bulb). I connect the lamp to an extension cord and then close the door and plug it in in a different room. Then I crack the door and use my phone camera to look and make sure the light is on. I set a timer for one hour and unplug the lamp before entering the room. There is a slight scent, I don't know what it is. My theory is it is the scent of clean (bad stuff dead and this is the lingering scent, kind of like when you cut grass). Of course that's just a theory. I have aired out the rooms just to be safe and have not experienced any headaches. I use it to sanitize our bed every week when I wash the linens. I also use it to sanitize the wool comforter since I can't wash it. I also use it to sterilize the grow room because bacteria is bad. I will be using it for our bathroom remodel to kill the mold (I'll be more aggressive there and leave the light on all night, every night during the reno). Lol, I'm constantly coming up with new ways I could use the UV-C light...or a UV-C light application that would be beneficial to our health.

As a newborn baby family. Seems to work very well. Left it running in a 10x12 ft bedroom for about 45 minutes and it stunk it up pretty good. No, do not stay in the room or even look at the light. Hook it up with an extension cord, step out of the room, close the door, and then plug it in. To see if it is working, sneak your phone camera around the door or wall and look at it with the phone camera. So after letting it run for 45 mins I shut it off and left the door closed to the room. The smell went away over a few hours but that is good because all that smelly ozone is killing all sorts of microbials. Much much later I went in and sniffed the fabrics on the bed and could still smell a trail of the scent, but it was not bothersome at all. I intend to use it this way once a week or more and hope it is killing mold and a bunch of other allergens. I think this light works really well for the money.

I purchased to try out in basement area that has that stagnant, musty, mildew odor most basements have and to my amazement after a few hrs here and there the odor has dissipated and seems to be kept in check thanks to this light. Have used it to sanitize every other room of the house since then. I make sure to vent the air in each of those areas after each use. The light has a slight odor after its been on. The bulb I got is a no ozone one but still don't want to breath that in. I can tell it effects my throat even if only for a min of after exposure. Had no idea that a UV light would help so much with indoor air quality but It does.. WARNING: It's very dangerous to pets and humans so I set it up in one of those clamp lamps on and extension cord, cleared everyone out and left the area being "treated".. then plugged it in somewhere else for a while. Never look at the light while it's on or it WILL burn your eyes. It's specs say it's 30x the sun's UV rays and that is no joke so use with caution. I am happy with my purchase so far and hope it lasts for many hrs of use. Would recommend to others.

This works great for keeping your pet’s water bowl clear of that toxic scum. Only takes a couple of hours a day. There is an ozone smell and you need to keep the pet away from the bowl while the light is working to prevent damage to the eyes.

Worked exactly once and now it's dead. Doesn't appear burnt out, and the base still works with other bulbs. I was not watching (obviously) how long it lasted, had it set to run 15 minutes. So assuming the timer of the base it was in actually works right, it lasted no longer than 15 minutes and like 3 power on cycles.
