Works As Expected
I bought this transformer to use as a 24V power supply for my smart thermostat. There were only two wires to my old thermostat so the 24V AC the new thermostat required wasn't available. I found some information online about using this type of step-down transformer to convert 120V to 24V. I used the circuit feeding a nearby light switch to supply the power I needed. I installed the transformer in a 2-gang "old work" box which left just enough room for the wire nuts used to connect the transformer to the power supply and the thermostat. Once connected and tested I used a blank white cover plate to cover it. You hardly notice the cover plate and the thermostat works perfectly.

It was a great investment. Ac company wanted to charge $800 to replace this piece.

Great for wired camera doorbells
This doorbell transformer worked great for wiring my Eufy camera doorbell. The 120V to 240V conversion was exactly what I needed, and the installation process was much easier thanks to the clear and detailed instruction manual that came with it. The instructions were easy to follow and helped make the setup straightforward. Overall, this was a great upgrade and a reliable solution for powering my doorbell camera.

Used this transformer in Stem kits before with no issues.
I am changing my one star review to a five. The issue below was caused by me connecting two transformers to a common 24 VAC output, wiring error on part. After attaching 120 vac to the whittle and black wires for 120 vac input and the 24 vac output. Without any loads attached to the 28 vac leads the transformer heated up and failed with smoke and the smell of burnt electronics. I’m still debating if I did something wrong or it was defective.
