Yes, but I wouldn't choose to ingest ANY glue! It is odourless too, so won't give you a headache

I am up cycling a piece of furniture and looking to use gold leaf. Would this adhesive work and more importantly be durable?

I’m afraid I’ve only used it for papercraft and mixed media. For these purposes it works very well and is my glue of choice. However, I would recommend something really tough and durable like Ranger Multi Medium Matte for something like furniture, which is actually used and not just for looking at. I use this for sticking things to MDF for mixed media work, and it is very robust. Dries clear too
