Q: What’s the difference between the 87 01 250 and the 87 02 250

The first 2 digits are the model number, the third is the style or sub type for example with cobras 2 would be a standard cobra 5 would be a slim head cobra. The forth number is the finish and the handle type the last three digits are the length. In your example 1 is polished head finish with dipped red handles 2 is polished head finish with thicker comfort grip blue and red handles. 3 would be chrome plated finish dipped red handles. 4 all chrome platted no handle coating. 5 chrome plated comfort grip red blue handles. 6 chrome plated VDE red and yellow insulated handles, 7 chrome plated with VDE dipped red insulated handles. Q: Could anyone tell me the exact length of these? I'd like to store it in a case measuring 253mm wide. Also, is the locking pin very strong? Thanks.

I measured mine. 253 MM. If looking fir more the 250 at the end of the model number is length in MM. They also do smaller ones. You may just squeeze these in. The locking pin is the best. I wouldn't buy any other make. I use mine daily

The thickness of the jaw head is 6mm. The maximum jaw opening is 4.5cms at the tip. This is a small robust adjustable plier, useful for small jobs or where access is restricted. It is part of my bicycle tool kit.

Q: ‎Atramentized vs Chrome plated?

Personally I have the atramentized version as I work in a clean dry environment. If I was in a dirty and wet environment i would probably go for chrome finish.
