Ghost Hunting Full Spectrum Night Vision Waterproof Action Camera 1080P with Infrared Illuminator

Astronomers have known about the infrared spectrum since 1800, but it didn't provide any practical service until 1929. They started playing with IR Night Vision in the 1940s and it hasn't changed very much in the past 80 years. I have been using IR for several years with closed circuit surveillance cameras and trail cams, which I'm discovering may provide the best clarity in night vision unless prepared to spend a few thousand dollars on some pro equipment. These cams are running all the time in hopes of seeing something, whereas the GhostPro records an expected event.I originally had plans to buy a lens and convert my Yi to night vision, but then I saw the GhostPro and decided it is probably the best low cost solution for me to see how they perform. I'm glad I went that route because the package provides many usable extras and a ton of versatility for switching components about in a variety of combos as needed. The camera is a low-cost Apeman clone identical to the A80 but with 1080 highest resolution and a setup routine that is actually easier. The camera is shipped in a waterproof case, has WiFi, and has an associated phone app. The excellent camera design also carries the best wind suppression of all action cams over to this one so you can hear when the ghosts begin to howl. Total recording time on a fully charged battery is 100 minutes, and that is excellent! Not sure if it is a characteristic of night vision but the focus with IR doesn't seem as sharp as when recording videos in daylight. The wide angle of the lens allows placing the camera close to the subject and still give a ten foot wide view of the immediate area. In daylight the rear LED panel is difficult to read, and don't be surprised when hearing some random gurgling sounds and clicks, bumps, and burps. Obviously that's when you know the ghosts are close by so just remember this base level action cam has a potential for achieving hair-raising results.The manual mentions some purple hue in daytime shots outdoors but didn't notice any indoors. The camera records to the Apple standard .MOV video format and (mysteriously) these videos will play on all your non-Mac devices too. It is truly a 24 hour camera providing night videos out to 30 feet using the provided IR spotlight, and with sufficient flood lighting the camera does well out to 100 feet distance. When you can ID the ghost using this cam then the investment was probably worth it.The kit provides several mounts and includes a stacking bracket that can either be mounted on a tripod or clipped to a chest harness or backpack. A Shinobi screen will give a better view when connected to the HDMI port of this camera. The combination grip and table-top tripod is of excellent versatility and has legs that swing out far enough to hold the camera and spotlight even when tilted for shots at 90 degrees. Two batteries are included for the camera and a USB charging wire and charger. The IR spotlight has a receptacle for connecting to a 12 volt power supply. You can also connect the spotlight to a 9-volt battery using an included battery connector. Two of these connectors are provided but it looks like one of mine is defective and won't work. It should not be difficult to find replacements for them because I'm sure these connectors will soon vanish like a ghost into a chilling green mist.

Pretty sweet set-up for the price. It's a "GoPro" copy that has been converted to full spectrum, and therefore works with an IR light as a night vision camera. The package includes the camera, a waterproof case for it, and numerous brackets and mounts so the camera can be worn as a body cam, dash mounted, or put on a tripod. Mine included a rechargeable 36LED IR light with standard camera mounts not pictured here (it's much nicer than the one pictured), a bracket for mounting, and a clever pistol grip/tripod stand. When all put together, it forms a great handheld night vision camera that is easy to use and provides great video.The camera also can take 12 megapixel still photos. The test footage I shot was fantastic. The picture quality is outstanding. At 1080FHD 1920 x 1080 the picture is clear as can be even in complete darkness. Being full spectrum, it takes very clear pictures in the dimmest of light without the IR light even. The IR does create a bright spot in the center of the view, but this is expected.I plan to use it on an investigation in a few days, and will try to post a clip from it to show picture quality.You cannot use this for regular video, like family outings and such. The full spectrum capability makes sunlight and bright lights look purple and it does not show color the same as a regular camera.So far I am very pleased, now to see how it performs in the field.

I was so excited when I received my package in the mail only to be disappointed by all the scratches on the plastic case. I tried looking under the protective screen sticker, it’s scratched. It looks like someone used it and returned it. No where did it say it was used or refurbished so as far as I was concerned this item was supposed to be new. Nothing more disappointing than opening a camera box only to find scuff and scratch marks all over it. Ugh.

I just broke my older full spectrum camera at an Investigation last week. Needed a new one ASAP. Saw your add for this little Camera and I am so glad I bought it and I am glad my older one broke. The field of view that this camera has over my older one is night and day better quality and now I can shoot a full room without the possibility of missing any movement sitting it on a tripod. I am so glad you made a full spectrum out of this camera. I'll be buying more in the future. Great work guys! This is the setup I used the other night during an Investigation. worked great!

There is no issue with the electronics, although somewhere to put the battery or a cut off switch for the IR light would have been nice. My main issue is that the camera mount will not secure fully to the handle. It just kinda jiggles and flops around.

The camera is a good value and has lots of nice features. The instruction book is really poor, so you'll have to spend a lot of time figuring out not only how to use the camera, but also what some of the features actually do. The light comes with no instructions at all. The waterproof housing is a good housing, but again no information comes with it, so there's no way to note what it's ratings are, so use with caution.

Great camera, especially for the cost. Works very well and the IR illuminator is bright. The unit itself is easy to use and is well protected in the case. Comes with a lot of accessories for different mounting options, but is light-weight enough to carry around with the included pistol grip.
