You gone get what you pay for
I bought these to clean my Pax vaporizer. I had previously bought the Zen brand that’s also available on Amazon, and while those are decent, these are easily superior quality. These remind me of the ones that originally came with my vape. Complaints about them being too prickly seem unjustified. The Zens I used before did the job, but I was constantly getting stuck by them, to the point that I’d often feel the need to check whether I broke skin while cleaning. With these, I can grip as tightly as I would ever possibly need to. I feel like you’d have to be trying to grasp these with full force to really get stuck by them. Despite that, they work at least as well as the seemingly more abrasive Zen ones. I’d say these actually work better, because I can hold them properly and thus bear down like I need to. With the Zen cleaners, I had to balance the force needed to clean with the aggravation of being pricked. With these, I can detail as much as I want. I haven’t seen any particulate left behind by either brand. For cleaning the Pax you’re supposed to use isopropyl, which I allow to absorb into the pipe cleaner. I haven’t noticed any difference in the absorbency of the two brands, so this wasn’t a distinguishing feature for me. For the Pax, isopropyl will do most of the cleaning work, so a hard bristle isn’t really as necessary as it probably would be for an actual pipe with lots of carbon built up. At the same time, I would rather use 3 of these than 1 of the Zen because I doubt very seriously that the sharper bristles make for that much more cleaning power relative to the annoyance of getting pricked - especially if getting stuck makes properly cleaning too aggravating to do. Plus, each pipe cleaner can only absorb so much grime anyway, so a harder bristle won’t get you that much (if any) more mileage. Also, the fibers of the Mantello cleaners feels softer, and I suspect that this could actually allow for greater absorbency. Overall, the Zens are cheaper, but unless you really feel like that $1 or $2 difference is going to have a profound impact on your life, I would wholly recommend going for these over the Zens. I don’t have to order these things often, but I will definitely be looking for the Mantello brand next time I do, because the price difference is unambiguously worth it.

Smaller/shorter than I realized
I bought these initially on accident when I wanted soft-bristled pipe cleaners, but I wasn't able to cancel the order in time and I didn't feel like going through the return process for a 5-dollar product. That being said, I'm reasonably pleased with these. I didn't want hard bristles because I thought they would be too harsh on my glass pipe, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I tested it on a discreet area of the pipe and it didn't scratch so I cleaned the whole pipe with it. It really tackles tar and resin. My only issue with the product is that I wish they were longer. It works well for my tiny pipe (less than 3 inches long) but my boyfriend has a longer one (about 5 inches) and it barely reaches through the whole thing. I prefer a longer pipe cleaner so i can dig deeper instead of having to tackle it from both ends because it's too short. That being said I was still pretty impressed with the quality overall so I would definitely recommend these. It was my own fault for not realizing how small these were because I didn't read the description details. Also important to note that it's a really skinny pipe cleaner, not like the craft ones that are super thick and fluffy. It's good for fitting in the various holes of the pipe because it's thin, but if you're not using it for cleaning pipes specifically, it might be too skinny for you. I still ended up having to use several to clean one pipe because there just wasn't quite enough fluff there to tackle all of the tar buildup I had. Just something to keep in mind!

Thin and strong cleaners!
I use a small hooka pipe and most pipe cleaners are too thick to clean the updraft tube on it. These are not. They are thin enough to clean the tube and strong enough not to distort during cleaning. Work great!

Great for cleaning small pipes or tubes for home.
