RECOMMENDATION: These are a ‘BUY’, but it can be a little confusing and disconcerting because they work by scrambling the data connection, so that the connected unit cannot be discerned and thus you cannot transfer data to/from it. That means that a remote system can see that something is connected, but cannot determine what. THE GOOD: 1. Works and looks good, especially with black cables 2. Lightweight so you can just leave it connected to cables that you want to use for charging THE BAD: 1. Note the info under Recommendation above. It works, but can be concerning if you connect to say a windows laptop, because the laptop will see it. The laptop won’t be able to figure out what it is and thus not install a driver, so your data is safe but in a little bit of a disconcerting way…

Just what I wanted for protecting electronics while traveling. These are USB C to C for android devices. Great price, too.

I bought it so when I charge my cellphone and laptop to any public charger, like the charger kiosk in the airport or in the plane or hotel, etc., I don’t get any virus or hackers. I used this when I travelled abroad, it’s better to be safe, than sorry. It worked great. Don’t use this if you’re transferring files from one device to another, the transfer will be blocked and it won’t work—it is doing its job what it is designed for. But you can use your cellphone while this thing is used and charging .

Overall; Pricey but sturdy metal. Works as advertised. I didn’t notice any slowing of charging speeds. Could be a little on the pricey side compared to what else you’ll find here but these are actually made of pretty sturdy metal so I’m not worried about accidentally crushing one at all. Tested it with my phone to my computer and couldn’t get the computer to recognize anything so it’s doing what it’s supposed to.

Good product

When my Ipod loses power I need to connect with USB into my boat stereo. When I do this, the stereo will take control of the Ipod. I want power only. This adapter works great. I plug it into the stereo and the Ipod works the same as it does from it's internal battery. Exactly what I wanted.

Purchased these to use in rental cars, airports, and for travel so that hackers can’t gain access to my phone through an insecure connection. I’m satisfied with the performance, but these are way overpriced. Competing generic versions are available for half of what these cost.

Garmin devices cannot be stopped from entering file transfer mode when they detect chatter on the USB line. This blocker lets me charge my Garmin GPS while I continue to use it. JSAUX and others say they block data, but they still chatter away with your device and that makes my dashboard GPS useless. Does that sort of chatter with a data blocker seem safe? Not to me. Returned the JSAUX, keeping this one.

Essential adaptor for charging your phone out on the road. It blocks the data from being sent through but still allows your phone to charge. Just an additional tool which helps to keeps my personal data safe.

So far it works well, and blocks the signal. I wish it had a cap on it it but it is ok.
