ERA 826-33 Sash Window Screw Locks - Brass (6 Pieces)

Really good set of sash window locks. My windows only had the original push bolts but I decided that they were not very secure so looked at unobtrusive but much more secure replacements. These really excelled. Fitting was a doddle and I used the original holes in the sash frames so very little alteration. A couple of the fixing holes needed drilling out a little more but that was it.

Easy to install - so Long as you have sash windows bothnof which open - as it says in description ! Don't even think about it if only One of your windows opens Neat and unobtrusive / would have been 5 stars had they not supplied Just one key meaning you have to buy more if You use six locks In More than one room - Which of Course You would unless You have a Mansion with three windows in the same Room!

I was pleased to get these to replace a couple that had rusted away. They're very good.

Except for the key this is good. The key is pot metal and you only get one. Mine lasted the first day then split. See the flayed end in the picture hopefully where it split on one side. When I searched (and purchased a replacement ERA key for window sash looks - it was a a completely different fit)

Sash windows are not the most secure of things, this purchase will ease those worries. Get packet of 6, open packet, close windows, mark/measure where on the window you'd like these to be screwed in - equidistant from the sides of the window or from the central lock. Drill hole through to the other window so that your two windows have holes where both will meet (being careful not to drill all the way through both). Bang the small bit into the rear window, the large bit into the front window (it doesn't really matter if your hole in the rear one is a bit deeper than the bit you're knocking in, it's just to house the screw once in place. Insert long metal screw and once turned a few times, use key to sink the head just below the level of the front housing. Your window should now be secure and should not move. Two in each window - unless they're massive, should suffice.

Just what I needed - there was no key or bolt in the house and the ERA sash window locks and key fitted the bill perfectly. Have used these before in the past with success.

These would of been great had they fitted my modern sash windows. As with most 'new' things, material is kept to a minimum, so in my case there was not enough wood to drill and fit these without breaking the frame

I was extremely disappointed in these window locks. The manufacturer’s package came partially open. It looked nice online but all of the brass pieces arrived totally discolored and the brass has marks all over it. This item does not look new and looks as though it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a long time. I paid more than the item’s cost to ship it from Amazon’s global store and I cannot use these locks because they look awful.
