KENWOOD Chef Replacement Paddle for ice Cream Maker Attachment - A953/AT956 (629301)

Sent quickly, good delivery. Hopefully people know about the issues with this ice cream mixer attachment - that it breaks easily - it has something to do with the placement of it in the kenwood, it needs to be placed exactly as the kenwood instructions advise - so that there's room for the top of the attachment to move as its spinning. If yours keep breaking that maybe the reason. I had been using mine for over a year making ice cream with no problems, then one day after not using for a few months I attached it in a slightly different position and it broke within 2 minutes, I then attached my back up one in the same position and again it broke instantly, then I realised I'd mistakingly positioned them wrongly, which is what caused the breaks.There is a little metal 1cm knob shaped protrusion in the base of the Kenwood near where you place the attachments and the plastic mixer has a little hole/dip in the top. There's a temptation to fit the metal knob into the hole - DONT! That's what the problem is - the mixer is then too fixed in one place and doesn't give it enough room to move as it's turning which causes it to snap. The metal knob should go to one side of the mixer - look at the instructions carefully for details. If attached properly it should work well.

Fast service - this looked identical to the paddle that snapped but I had to shave a few mm off the collar with a Stanley knife before my Major would close onto it. Happily churning once again.

This part does the trick but is liable to fracture, especially when the Manufactures instructions are not followed carefully. I think the manufacturers should consider using a different material.
