Shockingly Great for Heavy Pet Hair – Quiet, Smart, and Powerful
I am honestly shocked at how well this vacuum performs. I have four dogs, one of them a yellow Lab, so anyone with pets knows the amount of hair I’m dealing with on a daily basis. This thing handles it beautifully. The longer sweeping arms make a huge difference — it actually pulls hair from edges, corners, and along baseboards instead of just pushing it around. It gets under furniture and along edges better than any robot vacuum I’ve owned. It even figures out how to maneuver under my dining table and chairs, which really impressed me. The battery life is excellent, especially considering how much ground it covers, and it runs quietly, which is a big plus with dogs in the house. It doesn’t get under everything, but it gets under almost everything that matters. I’ve used the mop function once, and it did a surprisingly good job. I still do a deeper, traditional mop about once a week, but for maintenance cleaning, this is fantastic and keeps my floors looking consistently clean. Overall, this has made a huge difference in how clean my house stays day to day. With multiple dogs, that’s saying a lot. I truly didn’t expect to be this impressed.

Thrilled with this thing
I haven't had this long enough to speak to its durability, but I hope it lasts a long time because I love it. My house is hardwood and tile, and keeping up with the floors is my most dreaded household chore. With multiple dogs and cats in the house, there's always a mess to clean up, and let's not even talk about the hair. The instructions say to charge the unit overnight before using it the first time, so don't think you'll be able to try it out the minute it arrives. The mop attachment is under the formed cardboard insert and there's a sticker on the cardboard that says so, but it seems from other reviews that not everyone noticed that. Look under the cardboard before you throw out the box. It comes with a dustbin installed and a water tank in the box. My dustbin arrived with a broken hinge. That doesn't impact the function and I will contact the seller about it, but I couldn't wait to use the robot. I had vacuumed and washed all my floors before the robot came because this robot, which I named Floora, is obviously not meant for deep cleaning. It's more of a maintenance thing. But she did a great job on her first go-round of vacuuming. The bin was stuffed with animal hair, which I supposed came from under the furniture where the vacuum didn't reach. I was pretty excited about that. She did well on picking up dust and little things, which is really helpful, but she doesn't pick up big clumbs. She does, however, shove them ahead of her and eventually flings them to the side, so they're easy to find and pick up. I just went around with a paper towel and picked them up when she was done. I expect that sooner or later, Floora will push all the big clumps into the open and then she should be able to simply keep up with the small daily messes that accumulate. After the first vacuuming session, she returned to her home base to rest and recharge. She'd earned it. The instructions say to place the home base in an open area and some reviews said the base should not be placed near computer equipment. I ignored the instructions and put it under an ottoman. She has had no problem finding her home, which is great because she's out of sight when not in use. Later, I sent her out to mop the floors. Wet the mop first, or she'll waste time dragging a dry mop pad around for a long time before it soaks through. The water tank relies on gravity to put down water, and if you don't wet the pad, you'll get the "two streak" effect some reviewers complained about. As others have pointed out, this is not an intelligent machine. Floora just randomly wanders around.I think the only way to really get clean floors with this robot is to use it every day or two. Otherwise, you're just not going to get complete coverage. However, Floora is so easy to use, there's no reason not to put her to work each night (or day). She can be scheduled, although I think I did that wrong because she didn't do her vacuuming at 3 am, as I'd asked her. I'll try again this evening. There's only one problem I have so far with Floora. She gets stuck on a few things, and she seems to really like going to those things. The first thing is a cat scratching post on a base about 1" high. She gets one of her wheels caught on it and can't get off. I moved it, problem solved. The other is a sideboard. She can get under it but she can't get out. When she gets stuck while mopping, she continues to release water, so you'll get a puddle. If you have hardwood floors, make sure you learn where she gets stuck in your house and fix it before you leave her alone. In comparison, I previously owned a Scooba. It was a hassle to use and didn’t do a great job. I didn’t use it very often because setting it up and cleaning it was more annoying than just steaming the floors with a steam mop (I had all tile floors then). It lasted about 9 uses and when it stopped, Roomba would do nothing for me. I bought that unit refurbished for $100+ than I spent on this robot, and this robot is far superior.

Great little cleaner, great price!
Unboxing / First Impressions: Product received in great packaging. Once unboxed, read through the manual and quick setup guides. Though English was not that great it was easy enough to get through. I set the little vac, which my 4 yr old named Winston, into its charger and charged it up. First Run/Impressions: I have a 2 story home with downstairs being hardwood floors and ceramic tile comprising approx. 1200 sf of space on the 1st floor.. A living room, Dining room with lots of furniture, breakfast room with table/chairs and hutch, a kitchen with an island and a living room with 4 chairs, sofa, coffee table, and a lg armoire. When I pushed clean to start the dry vac process the unit began to move about cleaning in a fairly random pattern, softly bumping into furniture and working to move around items. After a while I noticed it would move around to a chair or table and begin a move to go around a leg once it seemed to determine it was in fact a leg of a chair or table. If it found the item to be a larger piece with long sides like cabinets or an armoire it would go along cleaning the edges. While it moved through the rooms it was more random than expected and seemed to go over some spots more than others. It did a really good job of cleaning around the oak chairs at the breakfast table. I have two thick matts in the kitchen for standing, it had no problems getting up on those. I have a 3 X 5 rug at the front door, this was a little bit of an issue as the little brushes tended to go under the edge picking up the edge of the carpet and causing the vac to backup or flip the rug up and cause it to jump over or again, back up. This was not all the time. Cleaning Power: I will say it did a great job cleaning up dirt, sand, dust, small items from the floor. I let it run for about an hour and it swept most of the 1200 sf or so of hard floors. I emptied the container once abt 45 mins in and let it go on it's way. Issues I ran into: The little vac, which was named Winston at first, but has since been renamed "Romi" by my 4 yo, did have an issue when it decided to clean under my large sofa (it didn't have issues with the skirt by the way.) I happened to have my wireless rear audio speakers behind the sofa and the little vac found the wires and got them tangled in the brush. This stopped the unit cold. I had to look around after not hearing it anymore to finally find it under the sofa shut off. I untangled the wire, checked unit for issues (none) and hit Clean again, and off it went like nothing ever happened. Completing the Cleaning: I didn't run the vac until it stopped on it's own. We had to get to bed so I used the provided remote and pointing it at "Romi's" front (the remote appears to use IR, not RF) it shut down the vacuum, put little brushes in a low/slow power mode and began to go in a "follow the left side" of the room method to find its way back to the charging base. This seemed a little like a blind person in a strange room following along a wall. After 5 mins or so, Romi got within 5 ft of the charging base and seemed to see it. At this point it lined itself up and slowly proceeded to guide itself back on to the base and started charging for the night. PROS: - Good price! Can't beat the price for a vac and this one will do wet service but have not tried that yet. - Great cleaning! It did a really good job cleaning the hard floors. I have not tried it on low pile carpet but will do that and provide feedback. - Quiet. This is MUCH quieter than our Shark and other vacuums. CONS: - Not as sophisticated as much more expensive units. - Does not appear to have a memory of the floor or room layout - Does not connect to Wifi - Does not have reports on how/where it cleaned, etc. OVERALL: If you want a good sweeper unit without all the fancy junk that makes units cost 3 or 4 times as much, this is your guy! It does a great job sweeping hard floors can get under items that have about 4-5" of clearance, doens't have issues with skirts on sofas, and gets around chair and table legs to clean under furniture!

Perfect for My Current Needs (former Roomba Junkie)
I live in the humid tropics, 2 blocks from beach (sand n salt laden air), ground level just feet from street, with mangrove jungle across the street. I don't have carpet; only tile. With our strong ocean breeze lots of air comes through bringing salty, sticky dust, always moisture laden, and a fare amount of sand tracked in by humans and my 2 dogs; one large and shaggy, other medium puppy who is allllll over the place, all the time, stirring everything up constantly. I have had an army of iRobot Roombas since they first came out, 2002, through the 500 series. I gifted them when I left the states but it became very apparent that I needed daily sweeping and damp mopping here in my new home. This is not a Roomba, that I used in my large house, tile floors, daily, an army of 6, to help clean up the mess from 10 large and Giant country housedogs nor is it as robust as the 3 Electrolux Trilobites I used on my carpet upstairs at big house in States. BUT... it is exactly what I need for my current situation and tile floors that stay always a little tacky and damp from environment. One of the MAJOR things I LOVE about my iLife 'bot is the ease of emptying and cleaning AND, and this is HUGE, I don't have to do monthly cleanings of a brush gear box, like I had to do with my Roombas, to keep them running. Dog hair, dust, and gunk would work into the brush gearbox with a vengeance. The iLife is so simple. It has 2 brushes on sides to drive the debris towards the suction hole which is all that is needed for bare floors. No Gear boxes to clean out!!!! Even without using the Max suction every bit of sticky, salty debris and fluff from Big dog (he's half Lab and sheds gobs of fluffy undercoat constantly) are cleaned up entirely from floor. My floor space is about 300 sq ft. It will clean the entirety using 2 of the 4 bars of battery life, with plenty of battery left. I usually recharge it in about an hour and then set it to damp mop. It does an excellent job damp mopping. I use white vinegar and water and pre-moisten the pad. I had a maid who came in weekly and is an excellent cleaner but I need daily "sweeping" and mopping every other day. I don't think a human can do as good a job no matter how good and thorough they are. Because I'm now on a more limited income, I have limited space to store appliances, and the cost of shipping and duties from US to Mexico is so high the extremely reasonable price of the iLife was a major factor in my decision right up with the importance of the work I needed it to do. I can't, at this time, comment on longevity or durability but, from all the experience I've had for almost 20 years owning floor 'bots, I think this 'bot will more than pay for itself and most likely work for many years as there just isn't much to break down. I ordered extra side brushes, hepa filters, mop pads, that came with extra "velcro" type replacement pads for the mop pad even though a few came with the 'bot. After a month I changed out the hepa filter only because my sink leaked and 'bot sucked up the water into the hepa filter; probably time to change anyway. That took all of 10 seconds. As long as you use the iLife for bare floors I think you will be very please especially at this price. I did not receive the 'bot I ordered but unlike the one I ordered my model came with virtual wall and remote and programming function. I'm so glad they sent this one to me. My Feisty puppy loves to turn it off so I can turn it back on remotely. I LOVE my new little "maid". I think you will too.

Sorely disappointed! Lots of room for improvements. Returned it.
Review of iLife Robotic Vacuum with Mopping Feature My old Roomba is just that, old! I have replaced parts on it and put in a new battery, but it just sort of does its own thing. So, I decided to try this since it was on a Prime Special in July. I had also done some research and found recommendations from some experts. This was one of those recommendations, sort of. The recommended one was the version without Alexa and Google integration. I started to get it and Amazon showed a newer version and it was only $20 more. Plus, this one mops, too. My hopes when ordering it: it would be more quiet than my Roomba, it would not get stuck under so many things, it would pick up things as well since it doesn’t have a brush or roller, it would map my home and rooms (my old one had no smart features like that), that there would be some method to its vacuuming, that the app would be user friendly, that the battery lasts around 100 minutes as advertised, and that it would actually work with Alexa and Google. I was so disappointed in most aspects. Let’s get this out of the way first, the product description mentions mapping, but there is none. The setup was not too bad. I had to connect to Wi-Fi several times before it finally took. There is nothing in the instructions to tell you which way the button is pressed on the side of the vacuum for on/off, and this is a necessary step in setup and charging. For information, press the button on the “O” icon and not the “-“ icon to turn the thing on. I let this charge overnight as it suggested. Lights flash to let you know it is charging and all lights but the one on the base go off when it is finished. It charges regardless of the position of the on/off switch although the instructions say it does not. Setting up the clock on the remote was okay. I never could get the remote to start the vacuum cleaning. I was able to get the app connected to Alexa easily. I was never able to get it to sync up with Google Home, but this seems to be the case with almost all smart devices I have. Here, Google Home will ask you to download a separate app if you want to connect to Google Home and are having trouble with the Google Home app doing so. Upon downloading the suggested app, there was zero help or steps to follow to connect it, so I just decided to forget Google Home. I pressed “clean” on the robot, and it went forward into the base, backed up, did some spins, and finally took off. I included a video of the initial run to show how minimal the noise is. I was pleased with this since my old Roomba is rather loud and always has been. I was also mostly pleased with the robot’s ability not to run hard into walls and objects. I say mostly because sometimes it did. It will not go under a bed if there is any bedding that drapes down close enough to the floor that the robot sees as a wall or whatever. This was disappointing. The robot has a lot of power in the drive mechanism. I say this because a couple pieces of furniture that I have are crafted with curved metal legs. The robot literally ran up these metal legs a little way. This was not good. I spent almost as much time getting the robot un-stuck from places as I did getting to relax while it cleaned. You cannot remove the mop pad from the robot and clean the house if you have ANY rugs that the robot will run over. I have some really thin rugs under some chairs to protect my hardwood floors. Without the mop pad on the robot, it got stuck and pulled the rugs up every time it tried to run over them due to the hook-and-loop finish on the bottom side of the robot to hold the pads on. I ended up having to put the mop pad back on. It really did not do very well on the edges of the rooms either. And any cords that were even close to being along an edge ended up stopping the robot after it got all tangled up in them. I did not even try the mop feature. I was too frustrated with the poor performance of this robot vacuum already. So, I used the app (which is not very feature-rich at all) and pressed the charge button so that the vacuum would return to its base. It took almost 5 minutes for it to return to its base. I had this running for about 40 minutes (including the time I spent finding it stuck or getting it -un-stuck) and the battery was about 2/3 down. It did pick up quite a bit of stuff. I currently do not have pets and live alone. A photo is included of the dirt bin, which is fairly simple to access and empty. Being so disappointed in this robot vacuum, I boxed it up and started the return process. I hooked up my old Roomba again and let it vacuum some of the areas already vacuumed by this iLife vacuum. I closed off all my other rooms and let it do the main portion and only where the iLife had cleaned already. I posted a photo of the Roomba dirt bin after doing this. Keep in mind that I had thoroughly cleaned my Roomba up, including the dust bin, since I thought I was going to store it away. I was quite surprised by how much dirt the iLife missed. So really, the noise level and the not bumping into most things hard were about the only things I liked about this iLife robotic vacuum. Otherwise, this is a vacuum with lots of room for improvement.

Good for basic hard floors with no black borders or black stripe patterns.
Basic robot vacuum. Does a great job on hard floors. No mapping capability. Does a random pattern. Eventually gets the job done. Does well on low pile carpet as long as it doesn't have a "busy pattern". That being said, I have three carpets. One has a pattern but I guess it isn't considered "busy". Did a great job on that one. The other two it gets trapped in the patterns. One has different size and colored checker board squares that confuse it. The entryway carpet has an Extremely busy pattern which doesn't seem to bother it other than the black border the traps the vacuum on the carpet. Apparently a black border and or black patterns are detected as a cliff it would seem. Otherwise a nice machine for basic floor maintenance. Also the directions are a bit vague and at times confusing. Example: if the machine gets stuck on carpet it says to remove three mopping pad. That made it stuck even worse due to the Velcro attachment strips for the mopping pad grabbing the carpet.

An Amazing Smart Vacuum for the Price
It has great suction power and picks up dog and cat hair without any problem, as well as dirt and dust. When it arrives, it’s very easy to assemble, and changing the filters and brushes is simple. It also has different functions for cleaning corners and the edges between the floor and the walls. It’s a high-quality vacuum and it really looks like a high-end model. The only downside is that it doesn’t include some functions that the more expensive models have, like automatic floor mapping in the app.
