Great product
I brought this item for my 8 year old son who wants to move on from Lego. This was quite challenging for us both, but we spent a pleasant Sunday afternoon putting this together. It went together well albeit a little tricky in parts. Helpful videos available. It works well and help him understand how gears and air can generate movement and motion. My only problem is issue was there is one missing part which secures the front wheels. 1 of these was missing so we used some blue tack not ideal but helped to make it work. Despite this it is a good product and I recommend it and put a couple of hours aside to complete.

Air powered car kit.
Bought for my grandson. He's out it together and played with it for a while. Will probably get more out of it in a year or so.

Superbly well thought out constructional model car.
This is beyond your average 10 yr old’s capabilities. I’m an adult with two grandchildren and I soon realised I would be doing the construction. It took me about 4 hours to build it, the hardest part being fitting the silicon seals onto the small pistons. To make this easier I fashioned a paper clip into a U shape to slide the seals onto the pistons. The correct orientation of these is vital. The instructions are excellent and must be carried out to the letter! The result is a car that works well and clearly shows how hydraulics, cylinders and pistons, gear wheels and valves work. An excellent teaching aid and fun to play with. Highly recommended.

Great parent and child project!
Awesome little project to do with the kids (9,6) who loved it. Would say you definitely need an adult around - building the pistons was fiddly with the little seals especially as they need to be put on the right way.Nice project for a few nights - do not rush it!!! - fitting the components and piling the moving parts needs care. Also worth noting: a craft knife is very useful for the burrs, using the wire cutters for initial removal of pieces from the sprue is fine but no more. The screw driver you need is a P2 long (80mm or better) philips head with no more than 4mm diameter shaft. Tripped us up as all our drivers are hex bits which are too wide.End result is brilliant, runs for ages.

Great idea, very complicated, would not recommend for a 10 year old
Bought this for my 10 year old son for Christmas as it said it was suitable for 10+. I honestly believe if I'd left it to him to build it he'd still be doing it now (or more accurately, he'd have given up long ago). Some of the bits are very fiddly and I can't honestly see a 10 year old being able to understand the instructions let alone actually following them. So ended up being me building it and him finding the parts and assisting. Even with me doing the grunt work it took a good 3-4 hours to build the thing. Then another hour of tinkering the next day when I re-read the instructions and realised the reason it wasn't working well was because one of the tiny rubber seals was on the wrong way round so needed partial disassembly to address it. So a word of warning - pay very close attention to the orientation of the rubber seals when you're putting it together, because it really does matter! The actual product itself is a good idea and the way it works is very clever. It seems well made and quite sturdy. The attention to detail far exceeded my expectations. I loved having to actually build every aspect of it from scratch including the syringes, pistons and even the pressure gauge. I really appreciated the way it all worked from an engineering perspective. And once it was correctly assembled it worked very well, and achieves some pretty impressive speeds - ideally you need a long straight run without carpets (probably 10m or more) to fully appreciate how quick this thing can go.If it had been bought for me as a gift I'd have been quite pleased to receive it, but definitely not for a 10 year old. I would recommend probably 13 years+.

Brilliant STEM talking piece
I was asked to take part in some careers fayres and STEM activities at some local schools and plumped for a number of Amazon STEM based kits.I built this beforehand and found it a perfect way to engage with students in an engineering based environment and had many a conversation about what engineering means, how it works (they tell me) and then demonstrating it.The feedback was good and I couldn’t praise the sturdiness and ability to see how the parts work to move the car, nothing hidden.I may take apart and use as a build project for future STEM activities.

A woderful thing for a wet afternoon
This was a fantastic kit. Extremely well conceived and made. And it works!. I'd have wished for a few extra screws, but, in this case I managed without losing a single one. It doesnt 'Do' anything much. But what it does do is magic!!!!
