Would have been drowned without these. Tested over 2 whole days of torrential rain at festival. Gave four stars because neck ripped by end of first day on both so binned them after festival.

This is really large, really large, I'm a bloke and it drowns me at six foot, so yes, it's perfect as a poncho, stud fasten at neck and at sides with a drawstring for the hood, folds to about eight inches long and four inches diameter, perfect for a rucksack side pocket or such. Black colour and a good thickness of material, as a ground sheet, hmm, OK for sitting on but not really durable enough for anything else. Perfect for me all the same and I definitely recommend.

To be honest, I probably gave this poncho a bit of a harder time than it was designed for. I mean, its probably designed for protection against the average British shower, not tropical downpours in the Madagascan jungle.Its light, certainly, and - again - for emergency use in a British town its probably okay, but the rigours of life livng for a month in an isolated camp six hours from the nearest road... well, it couldn't cope. There were just too many things for it to get caught on, too many pointy leaves, too many sharp sticks. It just didn't stay the course, or even come close.So - okay for stuffing in a bag in case you are caught in a shower on the way to work or out shopping, but not expedition equipment.

This kept me spectacularly dry through three days of torrential rain at Download 2016, and didn't rip or split once. Good quality poncho. Highly recommend.

It does not work, I still get very wet even when I am wearing it.

I was really pleased when this arrived a week ago, looked good and fitted well....Put this on today seen as it was windy and rainy (what it's for...)I was really happy with it whilst getting ready to walk the dog, I was all like 'I'm Batman' and prancing around the house like a waterproof superhero...However, once I got outside, all hell broke loose, as I walked along without a care in the world an evil gust of wind turned up... it was like 'I'm going to blow stuff, yeahhh!'As soon as the wind started the poncho started to shred, bits of black fabric flying off of me like feathers from a startled chicken, needless to say, it did NOT keep me dry, and left me feeling more like a superzero :'(Only buy this if you can control the weather and make it just drizzle, anything more than that you might not make it home to your loved ones :(I shall be requesting a full refund and a cake as a gesture of good will for my moist clothes and shattered ego.

Great item worth every penny, used for three day very wet festival, on and off multiple times, fixes together on side poppers well, dries out over night and ready to go the next morning. Hoped it would last three days, but exceeded my expectations, it's rolled up at home ready for next year.
