Great collection from an under-appreciated group
I always liked what I heard, but just considered Ambrosia to be another pop, love song/ballad band; You're the Only Woman, How Much I Feel, Biggest Part of Me, etc... Then I heard "Holdin' On To Yesterday" on a great sound system... I was blown away! This is a very talented group of musicians playing well crafted songs in a progressive rock vein, with tints of Jazz, R&B and more. Well produced, with layers of soaring and soulful vocal harmonies, driving rhythms, and many examples of masterful musicianship throughout. Sonic fun. There is nothing like this in modern music, so it is refreshing to "discover" something spectacular, that you and your peers may have overlooked back in the day, when there was an abundance of great and innovative music on the radio. I recommend Ambrosia's Anthology wholeheartedly. Know that, from what I found, Anthology has more music than later compilations, so if you can find it, get it. I wish I had this on vinyl.

Wonderful collection through and through
My popular musical memories growing up began in the early '80s, so I only knew these guys for their hits that adult contemporary radio stations played. I knew and loved the beautiful hits "How Much I Feel", "Biggest Part Of Me", and "You're the Only Woman" quite well; and I vaguely know the earlier hit "Holding On To Yesterday" and also found it a nice song. When I discovered the existance of this collection, I knew it would be worth it for those songs alone. My only question was wondering how the rest of the collection would be.Well, without a doubt I am not disappointed. This collection as a whole shows what a talented band these guys were--and not just with their hit ballads. The write up in the CD booklet explains their roots very well and mentions when and where a lot of the songs were popular. Example: songs from their second album, including the classic "Cowboy Star", got them some notice on alternative radio stations of that era--something you would never know from just hearing their biggest radio hits.Songs like "Nice, Nice, Very Nice", "Life Beyond LA" and "Time Waits For No One" are standout album tracks that are included. And for sure, the track "I Just Can't Let Go"--with Michael McDonald and James Ingram included--is a gorgeous pop track that deserves to be a big single. This collection is definitely worth the purchase. Definitely for radio fans of the band (which I was) as well as long-time fans who want a summary of their catalog. This music is so good that I am tempted to buy some of their old albums as well. Perhaps someday I will, but for now this is a great starting point for getting to truly appreciate what this band was all about.

Long overdue purchase
I've long enjoyed the music of Ambrosia, as well as David Pack's collaborations with David Benoit. But I never bought any of their music until now. This is really good music. All their hits plus a few lesser-known gems.

良い雰囲気
You're The Only Woman

Don't ignore this until you give it a listen, you may be glad you made the effort
This has to be one of the best albums of the 1970s which nearly escaped my attention. I've known of David Pack for a long time, one of the purest melodic voices around mainly because he has popped up on a lot of other artist's albums as a backing singer. I was only when I started to listen to this album carefully that I appreciated how talented all four members of this band are and what a wonderful collection of songs this represents. Many people will have heard "Biggest Part of Me" and recognised it as an iconic tune of the period, and there are very few songs in the total 16 tracks that could be regarded as fillers which will surely grow on listeners. If you like The Eagles, Christopher Cross, Boz Scaggs, Mister Mister, Johnny Hates Jazz, Michael Franks or other artists who weave good vocals with tightly arranged music you will probably like this too.
