Installed a Chamberlain ML1000EVGB garage door opener to replace an old one. However, would not work with my canopy door & would just lock up. However, this canopy device solved the problem and works perfectly and now, the garage door opens nice & smoothly.

Put simply, if you have a canopy door and want an automatic door opener, you need this. That said, it is easy to fit and is actually very clever. Not having to get out of my car to open the garage makes a massive difference, especially in the winter. So, yes, it is essential and yes, it works fine. Might seem expensive now but how can you put a price on years of pretending you are in Thunderbirds.....?

If you go for the 'option' of fitting the safety beam that stops your kids/pets getting squashed, you will be working from 4 separate instruction sheets. These are written by someone who doesn't have a good command of the English language. Thus, you will be struggling to understand what the hell you are being told to do. These days, a lot of products are sold with text-free instructions and convey all the information with careful drawings. Not so with Chamberlain door openers and their accessories. The drawings are way too small but carry vital information (the colour coding for the electrical connection being just one example) and with a very small font size in the text which doesn't help. I got there eventually but the whole fitting experience was and extended ordeal that took about 3 times as long as it should have done.

Already had a Door Motor but it would not work with the counterweighted Canopy Door. Decided to take a chance and get one of theses to see if the 'conversion' would enable me to automate the door. Thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting to electrify their Canopy door - but do make sure you have a fairly powerful motor as it requires quite a lot of effort to work the arm. On my full height single garage door works like a charm. Took about 40 mins to install on the door and 10 more to hook up to the Motor and set movement limits... Job done in an hour. Brilliant.

I wondered why I need this addition to the canopy door but it is essential and does a good job. The downside is that if you have one of these butch looking modern cars, there may not be enough headroom within 1.5m of the door as it opens. I have a Peugeot 3008 and there is an interference between raised tailgate and Chamberlain Arm if the car is less than 700mm inside the garage. However, as stated, if one of these arms is recommended, you DO need it.

Ordered this for my mom, who had it fitted by a local handyman. Think it took him about half a day, however it does what it is supposed to and mom is very please with it in her maturing years. The same product on the High Street is considerably more expensive.

You will need this if you are using the Chamerlain up and over garage door kit for a Canopy Door - its a must. I did not receive any fitting instructions but I did find some on-line. In my humble oppinion they were about as usfull as a brick on the Titanic. Only the fact that I am a retired engineer saved me from pulling all my hair out, but in fairness I eventually worked out how to assemble it to the door. It worked like a dream - so it was worth the effort.The arm itself is well recommended and would have been given 5 stars if the instructions had been up to scratch.

Chamberlain ist wie es scheint zur Zeit der einzige Hersteller, der eine Gesamtlösung aus einer Hand anbietet, wenn es um das automatisierte Betätigen von Kipptoren (also nicht den sehr verbreiteten Schwingtoren) geht. Habe den Kurvenarm in Verbindung mit einem ML1000EV-Antrieb montiert. Die Montage ist weitgehend problemlos - es sei denn man hat einen vorstehenden Sturz, wie in unserem Fall. Mit etwas Probieren der verschiedenen möglichen Varianten mit dem mit dem Antrieb mitgelieferten gebogenen Arm haben wir dann doch eine für uns optimale Lösung gefunden - das hängt etwas von den Gegebenheiten wie z.B. dem Abstand Toroberkante zur Schiene ab. Aber was soll ich sagen: Es funktioniert! Das Kipptor öffnet sich zügig und rastet in der oberen Position sauber ein. Und wird beim Schließen ebenso sauber entriegelt. Daher von meiner Seite eine klare Empfehlung für jene spezielle Fälle, wo ein normaler, fixer Betätigungsarm versagt.

Se volete montare un meccanismo di apertura automatica al portone basculante del garage, sia a molla che a contrappesi, allora questo è il braccio che fa per voi. Il prezzo non è proprio bassissimo, ma la robustezza (peserà almeno 10 Kg) e il design a prova di infortunio giustificano parzialmente il prezzo. Io l'ho usato insieme ad un meccanismo sempre della Chamberlain (ottima marca poco conosciuta in Italia ma famosa in USA e nord-Europa) modello ML1000EV acquistato sempre su Amazon e devo dire che funziona perfettamente. Si può adattare facilmente a qualsiasi basculante grazie alle estensioni fornite a corredo. Le istruzioni (anche in italiano) non sono chiarissime, ma alla fine non si tratta di un pezzo complicato da montare, per cui non ci sono state particolari difficoltà. Le paratie plastiche poste ai lati dell'asta proteggono da eventuali incidenti, cosa non presente sui modelli di altri produttori. In fin dei conti si tratta di un prodotto di qualità, molto solido che consiglio senza alcun dubbio
