Getting Started with the BBC Micro:Bit Paperback – 17 April 2017

As a 78 year old grandmother (with a scientific background) I found that with the help of this book that it was most enjoyable to be able to help my grandson with his school holiday computer project.It is clearly written and very practical.We found it easy to understand and follow.I can thoroughly recommend it whatever your age.

All my questions were answered.

I have read other books of this genre on this product and I have to say it's a good introduction on this device for beginners. However, in my opinion it was a little light in some areas, hence the 4 star.

Excellent book, just what I was after.

I bought this book so that my son and I could do some projects on the BBC microbit, which he had been bought as a present. I didn't have a clue about the microbit and am not particularly "techie".I found this book really useful because it explained in simple terms what the device was and how to use it. I was also able to sit with my 8 year old son and complete a couple of projects. He got a great sense of satisfaction from this and is now looking at further things he can do.I would highly recommend this book to anyone new to the device or those without a technical background who want to get their kids engaged and interested in coding.
