A good accessory to the usual blade kit.
This is a well-made item, one that I bought with a view to cutting through wall plaster to old brick, and for chasing channels for electrical cables. As such, it has so far met with my needs, with the abrading surface appearing to hold up well. It has so far removed a 4"square block of old plaster (to a depth of approximately 1"/2.54 cms) and chased back to brick to make a clean channel for wiring. I have not tried it for the stated use of tile/grout. In use, it does generate a greater level of dust than a bi-metal blade in plaster, and has shown that it will begin to cut into brick. I am not expecting miracles in terms of the blade's longevity given the nature of such blades, but so far, so good! It has certainly saved me from blunting other blades. As is the way with such things, patience is the key; let the blade do the work, don't try to force it, and that way the blade will be a happier bunny as will the user. At the price it represents a convenient and quick option over the old bolster chisel for my needs. It would have been nice to have a slightly more generous coating for the blade in terms of depth (5mm from the edge is OK, but 1cm might have been better in suggesting a longer useful life for the item?), but then you cannot have everything.

Ok for cutting a few tiles
I needed to cut some tiles and pieces of dado rail to size. Lots of the reviews suggested this would not work, but I only needed to do a few and had no other option. I'm pleased to say it worked fine for me. If you have a lot of cuts to make then it may not last, but if you just need to make a few cuts to fit around pipes and difficult areas then it does the job.

Flat uncoated cutting edge leaves dark marks in the groove between the tiles
I bought one of these blades and a three-pack of gold end-cut blades to compare (same manufacturer). This is the first time I've removed grout using an oscillating multitool. This silver blade doesn't have a coating of diamonds at the cutting edge and it left dark marks in the grooves (If you look at the product picture, the silver cutting edge is flat). If you look at the gold ones, the diamonds are encrusted over the cutting edge (it is jagged). I had problems getting the silver blade to push into the grout but the gold ones cut into the grout easily without leaving dark marks in the remaining groove. The extra £6 for the three gold blades is worth it.

Rubbish item
Very poor . It stated on package that it could cut tiles and it would not. A complete waste of money . And it really does say it will but trust me . Useless

Ideal
This was the exact blade I needed to cut through a tile whilst using my multi-tool As you can't get a decent 1 from any recommend DIY store without costing a fortune, this did exactly what I needed it for at the right price I did order 2 just incase 1 weren't good enough bit 1 did the job Would highly recommend

Decent blade
Seems decent: it was challenging to cut through a porcelain tile, and took a while but got there in the end. Blade showed minimal wear. The blade did get very hot, so suggest spraying with water to help keep it cool, and also keeps the dust down. I should imagine it would cut through a ceramic tile very easily.
