Model 46

Needed a replacement for my old insinkerator, which had lasted years! Didn't want the newer model with the push button start as just wanted a straight swap. Fitted perfectly, although I had a plumber it as a bit heavy for us oldies to lift into place! Hope this one lasts,as long as my previous one. Really missed t, the few days I had to wait till I could get it installed!

My InSinkrator 45 ran out of order probably due to age. I bought the recent Model 46 and attempted to install by myself. Initially, I feared that I would fail as I have never done this before. Surprisingly, it was very easy to dismantle the old one and replace it with the new one. Even the drain pipe connection was impeccable. I didn’t need to make any alteration although I bought a separate pipes kit as well. The new InSinkarator is now working beautifully. No leakage of water nor any defect due to my amateurish workmanship. The Owner’s Manual is self-explanatory and very easy to follow. If you are thinking of replacing your existing InSinkarator with a new, you had better buy the Model closest to the existing one. It will save you a lot of hassles and money.

Easy to fit and very efficient!

This was bought as a replacement for a completely different manufacturer's model which finally failed after many years of faithful service. This one is much quieter than its predecessor and more powerful. The instructions for fitting it were excellent - good diagrams, good use of English, very clear and unambiguous. The plumbing was entirely compatible with the old one so no issues there. I also like the fact that the rubber fingers through which you must feed the device are fastened to the device itself - on its predecessor this just sat in the bottom of the tube and eventually it got lost. As per one of the other reviews, my wife and I struggled to hold it firmly in place with sufficient pressure to get all 3 zones of the fitting to grip at the same time. Towards the end I figured I would have to follow suit and use a car jack to support it - that's when it dawned on me that our cars today don't come with a jack and we might have to borrow one - but one final effort from us both and we did succeed in getting it up high enough, with enough force, and held level to get the fitting to grip. Let's hope it now gives as good a service as its predecessor. This model doesn't use a pressure switch - our kitchen has a switch on the wall hence we intentionally chose the model that does not have the pressure switch. We just cut the plug off and connected it in the same way as its predecessor (via a junction box to a fused spur).

Replaced my old 45 model Insinkerator with this! It was simple so my plumber told me very happy and a good price too !

Having very limited space my choice of disposers were limited but this one, which replaces a 15year old similar model) does the job quietly and efficiently. Excellent step by step instructions. Fitting involves lifting with one hand while rotating a locking ring with the other. I found this hard because the disposer has to be pressed firmly onto the rubber seals and kept very straight to engage all three locking tags. In the end I lifted it on a small car jack! Otherwise installation was straightforward

I have had one of these previously and, for a very hard-working item, it lasted well and did the job perfectly.
