I am confused at the moment, does this come with everything (keyboard and trackpad) OR does it just connect the two together?

It is excellent if you have the Apple Keyboard and the Trackpad as this joins the two perfectly. I have had mine a few years now and find it brilliant. When you are on the listed page for this item on Amazon it does show on the bottom (as do many other items for sale with Amazon) Frequently bought together this+this+this for £123.11. The prices on Amazon for these individually are a really good price too.

Hi, is it possible to use the track-pads full functionality with this product? If I were to rest it on my lap, could I still use the track-pads click?

yes you can use the click, scroll etc as the functions are used by pushing/clicking on a hard surface of the pad. therefore you could use it on your lap or even in one hand to operate it.

Would this work with the 2 generation?

This definitely does not work with 2nd generation. Hopefully Twelve South with come up with new design soon.

does this allow you to connect the trackpad on the left rather than the right?

Yes it does. The divider and rubber tip that separates the Trackpad and keyboard can be used on either side. This does not work with Apples latest keyboard and Trackpad. Make sure it is the one with the rounded back (removable battery version)
