Purchased these Drapers for cutting cycle gear shifter cables at a third the cost of the similar ParkTool CN-10. These Drapers are rated to cut up to 5mm of steel rope. They cut through 1.2mm stainless steel rope inner wire and the 4mm SP41 steel rope outer casing, smooth and clean like a hot knife through butter. The cut was accurate and instant with zero crushing, deformation or unravelling of either cable. Usage was easy leaving a clean end for the ferrules and end caps to push on, and the inner cable to slide through. After 5-10 snips, the cutting edge showed zero marks / damage. The only thing these cutters don’t have that the Park Tool does is the crimpers, but any pliers will crimp soft aluminium end caps. All in all, these are great cable cutters and well worth the money.

With just one review mentioning 3mm wire rope, I was hoping my experience would be as good as the review said. It was. This cutter cut the 3mm stainless steel rope perfectly neatly, without difficulty, and with no apparent denting of the cutting surfaces. I had previously tried with some very substantial sheet metal snips, with disastrous results: both a mangled cable and some damage to the snips. This made it impossible to slide on the aluminium sleeves which both fix the cable and, if put on the end of the cable, protect the users of the plant support from sharp bits of stainless steel. The perfectly neat cut by the Draper Expert 190mm Wire Rope Cutter enabled the aluminium sleeves to slide on perfectly. The Cutter was also excellent for cutting the Merriway BH02064 Cut to Fit Hardwall Concrete Anchor PVC Wall Plug (another excellent product).

Appropriate quality and good value for occasional use - I bought it for a wire trellis I was putting up. Absolutely fine for that, although obviously if you pay more you'll get: 1) more comfortable grips 2) probably better mechanical advantage (this needs quite a strong squeeze with 2 hands).

These wire cutters work very well they cut through the wire with ease. My only complain about them is that the spring in the middle occasionally falls out. The handle grip is great. The paint finish is good.

Excellent. Very sharp just what I needed

Bought this at same time as a different and larger pair of cutters from a shop and these cut much better and I have already stopped using the larger other brand ones as they started fraying cables when trying to cut gear and brake cables but these do it clean and quick. Definitely worth buying, there is a very small latch on one side of the cutters you need to unlatch to use them.....took me a while before I realised as its hard to notice if you don't know theres one there. Once I realised it was there I was surprised I didn't see it sooner. Feels well made and does its job very well, cuts bicycle brake and gear cables very well.

Tras cortar unos 8 cables y fundas, debo decir que estoy muy satisfecho con esta herramienta. - Características: (ya le vale al vendedor no poner esta infomación) tenaza de 19mm de longitud, apta para cortar cable de acero trenzado de hasta 5mm y alambre de muelle hasta 1.5mm según el fabricante. - Materiales y acabados: herramienta de trabajo pura y dura. Pesada sin llegar a ser incómoda. Sólida, cero holguras, buen acabado. El recubrimiento de la empuñadura es de vinilo, tendiendo a duro, muy cómodo y agradable, no gomoso ni pegajoso, por lo que la grasa no se le queda pegada. - Funcionamiento: tras cortar 8 cables de freno, cambio y fundas, da gusto usarla. Ha cortado el último igual que el primero, sin marca ni señal alguna de desgaste en el filo. En los cables de freno y cambio, apenas hay que hacer esfuerzo y realiza cortes muy limpios y sin aplastamiento. En el caso de las fundas, los cortes son igual de buenos, pero hay que hacer algo más de fuerza, nada destacable. El muelle me parece muy bueno, ofrece una resistencia leve y tiene un retorno suave y controlado. El único pero que se le podría poner es que quien tenga manos pequeñas le costará usarla con una sola mano debido a que, por su forma de pico de loro, la tenaza ha de abrirse mucho para poder meter el cable por lo que las empuñaduras quedan bastante separadas.

Ho fatto un paio di tagli su un cavo di acciaio da 5 mm e lo ha tagliato bene e con il giusto grado di fatica. Per il prezzo la consiglio!
