No not a light, but the clock face is illuminated in the dark.

Can you hear the ticking?

Absolutely NO ticking can be heard from my clock - to the amazement & delight of my "ticking obsessed" other-half. However, when the alarm goes off, you really do jump out of bed to turn it off as it's v. loud. So I guess it works !! x

what are the dimension of the item?

The actual clock is 2 1/2 ins sq. it is in a small black plastic case which is 3 ins sq. hope this helps?

Hi the hands do glow at night but I cannot see them without turning the light on. So I would have to say not. The clock keeps good time and is very quiet though.
