Manufacturer recommendation is medium for shoe size 9. Initially we bought a medium for shoe size 9 and it was too tight and could not be used. Subsequently we bought a large size which fit well and works well. Maybe if you have narrow feet, the manufacturer recommendation may be right. However if you have broad feet, then you may need to buy the next size. The product is non returnable.

I bought the X-small, I wear size 6 women shoes and it fits very well. I can put it in my shoes but it feels tight. Great support and it keeps the ankle straight.

After removing the cast, it helped supporting the ankle till the complete healing of the ligament.
