HOLMES 10" Personal Fan, Rechargeable Battery, 3 Speed Settings, Lightweight and Portable, USB Cable, Carrying Handle, Home and Office, Black Finish

Of course, I just got it today, but I think I really like this fan.It's portable, but still robust, I doubt it would fit in a backpack or anything, but it's quite portable.I have the large version of the Holmes box fan, it's corded, but I wanted something that could be powered by USB, or battery backup, in the event of a power outage. I plugged this into my USB power station, you know, the kind with 10 USB slots for charging various types of devices. I have my fan sitting on a dresser across the room, and on high speed, it reaches to my bed, which is good. It seems very quiet so far, I haven't spent a night with it on yet, I just got it today. :) I like the fact that it's rechargeable, and takes a USB C cord. I don't know if it will charge with a high enough wattage power bank, but even if it can't, maybe it can at least run on one, I don't know, but if so, that will be convenient in the event of a power outage. I'm someone who can not sleep if there's no air circulation, yes, even when it's below freezing, lol. My family members say I keep my room at meat locker temps. I digress...The reach of this fan seems farther than any of the portable USB fans I have, which stands to reason, because it's 10 inches. The only things I don't like, and I don't even think I'll take a star off, because they're minor complaints are the fact that the knob to turn on the fan and adjust the speed is a complete 360. Meaning there's no all the way to the right (that would be low speed on my big box fan), or all the way to the left (that would be off on the big one). You can just keep rotating this one, I'm just concerned if the knob is that way that it might decrease the lifespan, stupid, I know. :) Also, there aren't any sticky rubber feet, so I hope the fan doesn't slide around on the dresser at night.Overall, this is a great fan.

I'm one of those people who can't sleep without a fan. During a terrible thunderstorm, the power went out, it got hot, and this little fan stayed on for 8 hours! I was so surprised! It has 3 settings and is easy to charge. It lets you know its charged when you see a green light. Its foldable and ready to travel. Amazing performance.

The fan works great! There is no noise at all from it! I love how it's portable and that makes it so easy to take on the road! The amount of air that coms from this little thing is incredible! For what it's worth, I say buy it! Very worth it!!

I bought my fan in August 2023 and by May 2024 it stop working. Even when plugged into the wall outlet, it would not turn on. I had a previous Holmes personal fan (purchased from Walmart approximately 5 years ago) and it lasted that entire 5 years not the 8 months that this was has lasted. I like the fan and hoping that I just received a defective one. I tried to contact Customer Support through Amazon and the link was invalid. Also mailed a letter (via snail mail) to the address located on the documentation I received with the fan, and it had been returned as undeliverable. Will I buy another one? Probably - but disappointed that I can’t get a hold of the company so that they can honor their one year warranty.

For those who've had a problem with it keeping a charge, it could be broken, but it's also possible that it's *not getting enough current from the charger.* It would be good for Holmes to include an actual plug, in addition to the USB-C cable, to improve this experience.The fan is rated for 2A input. While many devices can still charge with lower current, just more slowly, I found that this fan *needs* something around that to charge effectively. I had initial issues with a lower current charger and thought it might be broken. It wouldn't always give the blinking charge signal, or it would stop randomly. **However, since switching to a 2A charger, it charges effectively every time** and accurately signals its charging state. At the same time, just make sure to stay within 10% of the rated 5v, too, as always.Great fan, now. Quiet and powerful for its size, and super convenient.

I purchased this fan to replace another similar portable, rechargeable fan by another manufacturer, that stopped working after 1 1/2 years. I was so excited this was made by Holmes as I’ve always had great experiences with their household fans. I’m afraid I can’t say the same for this fan.First off, it’s LOUD. My husband thought I was using a much larger fan before he realized it was a tiny, 4-inch battery operated fan. Second, there is no way to know if it’s finished charging. The red indicator will light solid red from the moment you plug into a charger and doesn’t change color or flash or just turn off when it’s done charging. The user guide provides zero guidance on what to look for. I plugged in for 4 1/2 hours and the light never changed status, thus I had no idea whether or not the battery was fully charged or not, though I have a hard time believing it needed even MORE time to fully charge. Lastly, after 4 1/2 hours of charging, the battery died after 2 hours, while running on the 2nd speed intermittently, not constantly. This defeats the purpose of having a portable fan if it needs to be plugged into a charger just to use it. I wanted so much to love this fan and was willing to overlook the noise and the lack of battery charging status, but to last for half as long as it took to charge just lost me on this. There is a possibility mine was just defective, but I’m not entirely convinced of that. I am sending it back for a refund and I cannot recommend to anyone else.

Wonderful fan, love that it's portable, and the battery seems to last for a long time.

I loved this fan - loved that it was small and lightweight so I could easily throw it in my work bag for wherever my desk would be. I loved that I could charge it, so I wasn't discarding used batteries and harming the environment. The 3 speeds were perfect for comfort adjustment, as was the adjustable base.HOWEVER, after 10 months of use, the fan no longer works. I can no longer charge the battery or use the fan directly plugged n with the USB cord. Disappointing that the product didn't last longer, and now I have created more electronic waste.
