Unfortunately I cannot answer this accurately. I ordered the stool on behalf of an aunt who I believe uses it to sit on when she is using her table top sewing machine! .

Can a pensioner use this to sit in bath

No, I wouldn't think it was safe enough. It could slip. You are better off getting the proper bath stools as they have safety standards to adhere to and have suckers on their feet.
