Does this calculator have the distribution tables needed for the new A level exam?

If you are studying the Pearson Edexcel A level exam, first teaching Sept 2017, the distribution tables are provided on the Pearson website for download. The website states there will be general questions asked relating to these tables in the exam paper, so the student needs to be familiar with the tables prior to the exam. The specific distribution tables with lists of unique data items are not loaded in the calculator and Pearson seem to suggest this is not a requirement. However, I bought this calculator as it is one of two that Pearson recommend for the new exam. Have a scout round on their website, in the specification section, for specific details. My understanding is this is the top spec of calculator which is allowed in the new exam. Hope this helps.

is it possible to turn of the backlight / make it look like the same screen as a normal calculator?

You can turn the screen light down, there is a setting from 1-5. It will not be as dark as the regular calculator but it will be darker.
