Amazon Basics Hardcover Art Sketchbook, Large Size, 21 x 13 cm, 36 sheets/72 pages, 1-Pack, Black

Excellent value at this price. unfussy, but with good paper, a sufficiently sturdy cover and elastic, and a back pocket. binding construction means it's easy to fold the book open and to keep it open without the cover or prior pages interfering and the cover is strong enough to support working on the initial pages as you begin the book. I have not noticed any bleed through issues and generally find the paper to be great for this pricepoint. I would happily recommend this to anyone simply on a budget, beginners, children and students, and serious or fulltime artists looking for a nicely priced artbook for less precious work.

Obsessed with this sketch book! The paper is great quality, lovely and thick with no bleed through. The texture is perfect for sketching. I haven’t had any problems with the binding at all. I love it for my artwork, plus it’s small enough to carry on the go but still a lovely size to sketch in.

I attend a weekly art class. I wanted a small sketchbook which I could use to practice in before committing my drawings to more expensive art paper. This was ideal for this purpose. The paper was good quality and the book looked more expensive that it actually was. It was a handy size for carrying about with me. A Good buy.

Very nice sketchbook, good size, good price. Paper is not completely smooth, and also cream coloured (I prefer smooth and white) otherwise would be five star.

Great item very good for money fast delivery thank you

literally my go to sketchbook. 10+ years of shopping around and changing styles constantly, but my past 6 books have all been this basic one. Good paper thickness which is a must for me. Great size, not too big and fits a fair few stickers on the front! convenient elastic band that is tight even with full pages. honestly was surprised how much I love this sketchbook.

Really nice sketchbook, the paper is heavier than the more expensive Windsor and Newton pads. It takes wet and dry mediums well. No buckling when using water watercolour. Definitely would buy again

Bought cheaply for just over 3 quid on 2025 black Friday sales , Arrived in a nice cardboard box the books outer black cover looks lovely with an integrated elastic strap and pages look fairly thick , good for very light watercolour washes if you don't try and 'drown' the pages . It is Ideal to chuck in a bag for travel and plein air field studies & will be ideal for practice pieces ! I thought this little A5 book is excellent value given the price . It's ideally suited to very light watercolour and best for pen / pencil work , reviews on here are a bit unfair to it stating you can't paint on it and noting paper derogation - what do expect delivered to your front door for under £4 ? , professional paper can be upwards a few pounds for each sheet !

This sketchbook can take light layers of Derwent inktense, gouache and POSCA with reasonable ease. The hardcover, band and size make it excellent for carrying along for practice pleinair.

Love this small sketch book. It’s well put together. Great to pop in my handbag when travelling. Recommend.
