Are these strings for a fender telecaster? i ordered 150l 0.009 - 0.042 .......these strings say 150's 0.009 - 0.42 on the packet ?

Yes - you have bought a 009 - 42 set. All players have different ideas on sting gauge. I play a Telecaster and use 10 - 46 (I play hard) - but one of my friends uses 009 - 42 - so you take your choice. The longer you play for the more experienced you get with string gauge.

I’m confused wat are the size 9 to 40, so how shud I choose one

9-42 represents the playing weight of the strings ie; light weight upto heavy weight. I always use 9-42 Fender Super Bullets which are light weight strings and not so hard on the fingers when playing lead on a solid body guitar. If playing an acoustic guitar, some players will use much heavier strings, such as 13-58 At the end of the day it all depends on the type of guitar and your own playing preference and style of music.

I would have thought so. Certain numbers I play call for a strong rhythm section so you should be ok 👍
