Can you make American ones on it

American What? If you are asking if you can make American "crepes" then no you can't as "crepe" is French and not American. If you mean "pancakes" then no again as traditioonal "pancake" is English and not American. If you mean those so called American pancakes, whish are a thick and sickly batter then yes you can. This machine will cook anything from crepes and pancakes through to injera and pitta bread amongst many other doughs and batters.

I am looking for a crepe maker for my food shop and was wondering if this crepe maker can be used as a commercial machine.

The machine has clearly been made for domestic use. I think the instructions say that it has a limited working time before it needs a rest. It works well at that level, but I doubt it would last very long in a heavy duty environment and less so if you keep it running for long periods. For a retail outlet the cost isn't excessive, so you could take a chance on it and see how it goes! Even if it only lasts for a while, you should recoup the cost and test the market before considering buying a commercial version.
