Chuckit! Ultra Ball Durable Rubber Dog Toy, Medium, 6.5 cm (2-Pack)

Update: Fantastic balls! Until the end of May this year, we'd had the same two balls since 4 September 2016. During those 9 months they had been thrown, chased, caught, bounced on concrete surfaces, and chewed, yet they were still in 'as new' condition. In March I wrote "I don't know how the manufacturer makes money because they are truly virtually indestructible". And two months later I lost one! I threw it into the sea in Cornwall, for Polly to retrieve, and the tide took it away. We still have one of the originals, plus two new ones - ordered the night it was cast out to sea, because my ball maniac could not do without it (we'd left one at home 300 miles away). These balls are more at risk of loss than splitting or being chewed into pieces. Love them. Original Review: I have a ball-crazy Staffy. She constantly brings balls to me hoping I’ll play with her, and throws them around by herself if I won’t. She trashes a tennis ball in 2 minutes - pulling the fluffy fabric off, splitting it in half down the seam, and then chewing it to pieces. So tennis balls were banned, as were all dog balls bar the hard solid rubber ones….. but, although not a chewer normally, she does chew her way through them if left to play alone with one. Her teeth just sink into them, and I find little bits everywhere. The solid rubber balls are heavy, and I can't throw them far. They strain my neck, shoulder, and elbow, when I launch them with a thrower. Also, they are too hard and heavy for Polly to catch from a height or a distance, and I’m always afraid they’ll dislocate her jaw when catching them from a height. Her ‘friends’ have different Chuckit balls (whistlers, rebounders, and glow balls, which don’t float) and, whilst looking to buy her a set of these, I came across these Ultra balls - which looked far better for my dog. I read some of the 1300+ reviews for the Ultra balls, and I must say I was sceptical about them being virtually indestructible in a Staffy’s jaws. But, we’ve had them for two weeks now, played with them daily, and they are absolutely amazing - so far! Within minutes, on the day they arrived, I heard one of them squelching as she brought it back to me and my heart sank. I thought she had punctured it already, but then I discovered the secret of this amazing ball, and what makes it almost indestructible. There’s a tiny hole, in a groove, which allows the ball to squash between the teeth/jaws, pushing the air out, and preventing the teeth from penetrating its strong textured rubber. The squelching was Polly's slobber, in the hole. Amazing! I’m over the moon with these balls. Initially I thought they were rather expensive for a dog ball, but now I don’t begrudge a penny of their cost. The medium size seems to fit all types of standard sized launchers. I’ve owned dogs (as an adult) for over 40 years - three of which were Staffies - and I’ve never before been able to go out and leave my dog at home alone with a ball to occupy itself, without it being destroyed. In a short time, these balls will more than pay for themselves. I’m paranoid about losing them (as they are so bouncy) but, in the event that we do, I won’t hesitate to replace them with the same. These balls are everything they say and some. Fits the launcher perfect ( medium size). Our malinois loves it, bouncy and durable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has wasted money on regular tennis balls. Great price too.

I’m dog sitting for Teddy the cockapoo so bought these balls for him. As you can see Teddy is very very happy with his purchase! These balls are brilliant - super bouncy and withstanding lots of chewing without any damage at all. They are made of good quality material that is robust. They will definitely last a long time. Excellent value for your money for sure. Highly recommended and if I ever get my own pooch I’ll be buying these again. Teddy says “this ball is lots of fun - I love running and jumping to catch it when it bounces and like to give it a good chew!”

Bought as a replacement of my dog’s favourite ever ball that has been discontinued and is now impossible to find anywhere (sob). He thankfully took to this straight away, phew! No squeak, bonus. Great size for his mouth (Dobermann), bounce is next level. Remains to be seen how long it will last. He doesn’t destroy his balls by chewing on them but thoroughly enjoys the mouthing so the last balls he had would be around 6 months before they split. Not sure this will last as long but it’s a bit cheaper so I can live with them lasting less time.

Very durable and they don't sink when dropped in water.

Had these for almost a month now and they are perfect. The bright colours make it easy to spot in tall grass, they bounce really well and they are super durable. My staffy cross (~ 26kg) has been playing with it every day and has even been chomping on it for an extended period during the day and it has still held its shape and integrity. I believe the medium size was perfect for my dog as it was small enough that he couldn't get a really good hold on it to chew through it but big enough that it doesn't get stuck in his mouth. Going to try the large out though and see how that goes. The only downside is if your dog is a slobberer then prepare to be touching a slimy ball haha (unless you have a launcher of course). Edit: He destroyed the large, but the medium is still going strong and its been a couple of months. Buying another set of mediums now :)

It doesn't brake easily and my dogs love it i don't get how people think these are bad should be 5stars for everyone

These rubber balls are a must for anyone wanting a decent strength rubber ball to throw for their dog. They haven't got too much bounce and are a good size to hole and throw (fit neatly in a coat pocket to carry too) There is no annoying squeak in them and they are really robust when the dog is chewing them, and don't fall to pieces easily. They aren't too heavy and hard like some rubber balls (some are like flipping cannon balls!). The dog absolutely loves these to play with and even though they don't have a specific smell to them the dog knows exactly where they are at any given time and is always excited to grab them for playtime and fun. It's also a bonus that these are a bright orange colour so they are easy to spot and find if the dog gets distracted and drops them in long grass or undergrowth (the dog obviously thinks it will be fun for us to also scramble among the bushes to get the ball too!! Ha ha ... so fun for all the family hey!) Don't hesitate, get these balls for your dog, I promise you won't ever want to buy any others!

This is hands down the best dog toy I have ever purchased. It is well worth the price, hell, I would pay double! I have two Labrador Retrievers both under 2 years of age. I've tried so many different toys for them and they always go right through them - they don't last worth anything. These guys could chew through a jumbo jet. I even tried a toy made from a TIRE that the woman at the pet store guaranteed they couldn't chew up -- 15 minutes and I had to take it away because there were chunks of tire all over my living room. This ball... This chuck it ball... I bought one for each of them for Christmas on a lightning deal because I thought "Heck, it's a good deal I'll try it" and I am proud to say they are still standing. They look like the day we took them out of the package. These two dogs play with these balls EVERY. SINGLE. DAY -- for hours and hours. My male likes to just sit and chew it in his mouth like a wad of gum. You can hear it squish in his teeth, I still can't believe it's retaining it's shape. The only disappointment I had with these was they don't fit in the chuck it that I have, but that was only because I didn't know what size to get. Large is a perfect size for my labs though. I'd like to say I'd buy these over and over again, but at the rate these are lasting us I don't think I will need to. EDIT 4/14/16: I'm sad to report that one of the original Chuckit! balls finally met it's fate, and the other... well, we don't know where it bounced off to... But, I'm happy to report these balls had an AMAZING run with my dogs, even surviving being dropped out the car window at 55mph by one slobbery lab. Don't worry, mommy turned around and drove back and forth until she finally found it and returned it to the slobbery mouth... Dad bought new balls at the store one day, but he got the medium size this time so they would fit in our Chuckit! thrower... I don't think they liked the medium size as much as the large, and the medium lasted no where near as long as the large before there was a hole in it. And the second one was dropped out the car window again and this time mom didn't see it... So, once again -- one destroyed, one lost. But again, I will purchase these over and over because my dogs absolutely love them. I will probably continue with the large size from now on, as it's best for my dogs.
