Great for Travel and Backup Power with Efficient Design and Pass Through Charging
I have been very pleased with my EcoFlow RIVER 2 Max portable power station. It is lightweight, compact, and easy to carry, which makes it practical for home backup, camping, or travel. The compact size is a good feature, especially when space is at a premium, and I plan to use this power station with a portable refrigerator and freezer on road trips, where I really appreciate not having to dedicate much storage space. It still offers an excellent variety of power options, including 110V AC outlets, 12V DC output, and both USB Type A and USB Type C ports. That flexibility makes it easy for me to keep a wide range of devices powered without hauling around a heavy battery pack. Charging performance has also been impressive. The battery recharges quickly, and the EcoFlow display and app make it easy for me to monitor battery level, input, and output in real time. One of the key reasons I chose this model is its pass through charging capability, which lets me charge the unit while simultaneously powering devices. That feature adds a lot of flexibility during outages and travel situations where continuous power matters. My only disappointment came when I tried using it during a recent power outage with my ResMed AirSense 11 CPAP machine. The AirSense 11 requires 24V DC power, while the RIVER 2 Max only provides 12V DC output. Because of that, I had to plug the ResMed power brick into the 110V AC outlet instead of running it directly from DC. It worked and powered my CPAP without any issues, but using AC is less efficient because the battery first converts its internal DC power to AC, and then the ResMed power supply converts it back to 24V DC. That extra power conversion wastes energy and reduces overall runtime compared with a direct DC setup. Another thing I discovered is that the AirSense 11 uses a proprietary power connector rather than a standard barrel connector, so I cannot simply use a generic 24V adapter cable. Anyone planning to run this CPAP from battery power will need a compatible converter cable designed specifically for the AirSense 11. Even with that minor limitation, I am very happy with this power station. It is well built, easy to use, and versatile. Once I add the correct DC converter cable for my CPAP, I expect it to provide significantly longer runtime during future power outages. Overall, I would definitely recommend it.

Solid and reliable all the way!
A really good mid level power station. Plenty of power for charging most of your rechargeable devices, and will stay running for a good while. It charges very fast. It's really a great power station if you don't need a super high powered station. Ecoflow is a solid and great brand!

(STILL) Totally Satisfied- Update after a year
So I've been researching solar generators for a couple years now, reading/watching about anything I can find & Ecoflow has been the front runner on almost every review I've seen. My main interest in these was for back up power in case of the "dreaded grid failure" here at home, plus I have a little camp out in the woods of Alabama, 600 miles away that I spend about 4 weeks a year at & when the power goes out there, it's DARK! I mainly just need to power my coffee maker, mini fridge, ice maker, microwave, a lamp & charge my tool batteries. I decided on purchasing the River 2 Max & I LOVE it! It's small, weighs under 15 pounds, has 4 AC outputs & 4 DC. When it arrived it was charged to 30%, I had it up to 100% in a little over 30 minutes. It also has the inverter built in, so no power brick to pack up & can also be charged by your vehicle or solar panel. For glamping, using around the backyard when you don't want to run an extension cord or have AC power in your vehicle, this thing is perfect. I do not have any regrets buying this unit, I would recommend it to anyone & it's very inexpensive for what you get, compared to what I've researched. It also ships quickly & Ecoflow's communication is outstanding before & after the sale. UPDATE: Of my three solar generators, this is still my go-to & favorite. It's been a great during power outages at home, keeping my internet, Wi-Fi & some lights on. I've taken it camping & I use it at my cabin when I don't want to run extension cords. My latest use, I've been providing music & public address system for my class reunions for 25 years. This past weekend was our 50th, yes I'm old. One of the biggest hassles is dealing with my 4 outlet, heavy duty extension cord. Besides hauling it, trying to avoid a trip hazard & trying to hide the big ugly thing, it's heavy & a pain to roll back up. This time I used my River 2 Max & it was a piece of cake. I had everything confined to one small area, powered my sound system & laptop for over 6 hours, with no unsightly cables. It also made set-up & packing out much easier & faster. It still had over 70% power left when I shut it down & bonus, it's about 5 lbs lighter than my extension cord. I also found the app very handy to keep an eye on the power usage. I have no doubts this unit will outlast me. Thank you Eco-Flow for your fine products, had I started with Eco-Flow, it would be the only brand I own.

My go to power source now
I have had the River 2 Max as well as a River 2 for a few weeks now. I have been around portable power stations, batteries, solar, and generators for a long time and have been waiting for a portable unit that used LiFePo4 batteries for awhile now. I currently have an 8.64Kwh LiFePo4 battery bank with inverters for backup of may whole house, this can be vital during hurricane season, though it's not portable in the least bit. I am very picky about my power quality and do not tolerate simulated sine-wave inverters, so I was excited when the new River series was announced featuring both pure sinewave output as well as LifePo4 battery chemistry. My last small power station used a lead acid battery, had limited solar input ability and only 120w inverter output, though it too was sinewave. I used it for a few years before the battery gave up ( as lead acid batteries do) and have been looking to replace it for some time. I have been doing a few craft shows recently and wanted power for my tent, power connection at these events costs a fair bit and can reduce your placement options as you have to be along a side with power. Generators are not allowed due to noise and emissions, so a battery is really the only option. I used this at a show a week after receiving it and was beyond thrilled, it powered the lights in my tent along with keeping my card machine and phone charged and could have done so for a long time. The river series is small enough that I can just put it in a bag and bring it along without worrying about it taking up space that I need for inventory, stands and tables. When not doing shows the versatility keeps it from just sitting on a shelf also, I have tried this as a UPS for my full computer desk setup and it switched over flawlessly without any of the devices even noticing power had gone out (unplugged from the wall) The fast charging is amazing, rarely does a power emergency happen when I'm prepared and I can be quite forgetful as well, so being able to charge to full in the time it takes me to pack up the car for a craft fair is incredibly helpful. Charging with solar is about as easy as it gets, I have a couple of the 100w rigid Ecoflow panels and managed to get 201w out of them just laying them against the side of the house in the right direction. I also have the 110w folding panel and though it is a bit more effort to setup, it is super portable and has a nice case. The solar is actually so easy to use that I haven't been plugging my river units into the wall to charge, I have just been leaning a panel outside and charging them up in no time. I have actually found myself using both my river 2 max and river to charge my laptop and phone while working away from my desk, as its easer than reaching an outlet. only time will tell how everything holds up, but I am thrilled with the value I am getting out of these units right now.

Brick warning. โ๏ธ
Worked fine until the firmware bricked my unit. Itโs still under warranty, I was given 2 options. I can repair or replace with a refurbished unit. I opted for repair, but customer service now telling itโs not repairable. So now I gotta pay to send this to EcoFlow And take a gamble on a refurbished unit. Itโs now stuck in โoverloadโ it now just shuts itself off automatically stays stuck at 17% because it shuts itself down I have no way to drain the power and try to recharge and โresetโ the battery. Plus you need the app to control/ change settings/ view power usage of your unit, the catch is you need internet. But you bought the battery for off grid? Sucks if thereโs no internet. Prior to this I wouldโve given 5 stars-even overlooking the flaw with the app. Youโre better off buying a different brand.

2 minor flaws
1) Does not take USB-C power from my 120W Twelseavan solar panel. Another power station was getting 55W from it no problem. I switched the cable to my River 2 Max, and the input power quickly climbed to about 55W, but then dropped to zero after a couple of seconds. EcoRiver support suggested upgrading firmware, but after that my first try got steady input of only 10W. Trying again later yielded the same shutdown behavior as before. It takes power via XT60 with no problem from my Elecaenta 200W panel. I've ordered an adapter to try XT60 output from my Twelseavan. USB-C input from A/C adapter works fine. I guess this is not a dealbreaker, as XT60 or A/C would be my preferred ways to charge. 2) I tested the UPS functionality by having it give pass-thru power to my den's electronics stack: 2 ISP modems, load-balancer, mesh WiFi router, SmartThings hub, security cam, Google mini, Android TV, Xbox, and 48" LED TV. With the Xbox+TV off, it feeds 50W and everything stayed on when I cut the wall power. But later when the TV was on, the draw was closer to 200W and the power station's fan turned on. It's neither horrible nor acceptable, so now the TV bypasses the Ecoflow and plugs directly into the grid. I give this functionality a B+.

This little battery is great!
A little background on why I got this unit. 6 months ago I got a River mini. Had an issue with it, and after some troubleshooting Ecoflow took it back for exchange. Well turns out they couldn't replace it because they were transitioning to this new generation. I've heard other companies were not as easy to work with for warranty. So I decided to wait and see what the new generation offered. Was tempted by other brands but stuck with ecoflow. Really like this new model. It charges even faster than the mini. The inverter capacity is great. Its not too big/bulky for what you're getting. I am glad i got a unit with a bit more Wh (double, from my mini). One of my uses for this battery is my CPAP machine if the power goes out. With my resmed air mini i got 5 nights out of 1 charge (6hrs per night). Note my air mini, does not have a humidifier which does take up quite a bit more energy. I'm curious how long it would last if i got the DC cable and didn't need to power the inverter. Also the App was updated and seems to be leas clunky than with the river mini. I'm pleased with the purchase. We will see over time how well it performs over time. Update 4/13/23. I bought the DC cable for the AirMini. I was using about 20% of the battery per night on AC power. With the DC power I used 6% in a night! That has over doubled the time I can use the battery with my CPAP. So the cable was worth it.

Overall best value for money power station ever in the market
Nowadays everything is super expensive. I was looking for some power station that is cost-effective and finally came across this Ecoflow power station. Besides this one, I already have the Jackery and Goal Zero as my options. The reason I haven't bought them is they are very expensive, I'm waiting for their deal time. But finally, I bought this one, it satisfied all my needs as a camping power source, and it is at least 100 dollars cheaper than Jackery and Goal Zero! Besides the rugged shell and a lot of charging ports I can use. There are several things that amazed me: 1. It does not have a separate power adapter! The power adapter is integrated into the power station and therefore the charging using AC is super fast, at 600 watts/Hour. It's crazy! Jackery and Goal Zero only have around 60~100 watts/hour AC charging capabilities. This is super handy if you need to fast charge this power station with the camping AC source such as the power outlet in the washroom. 2. I did a little research about this company. Their founders are from DJI company, which is a world-famous company. Therefore, I have some confidence that this company will pay attention to the quality of their product, as the DJI company's product which amazed me often. 3. It has a 60 Watt PD output which was not common in other power station products. However, there is one thing that disturbed me a little bit. This power station has wifi connectivity! Although I can easily view the status of it and even conveniently remotely control it when I'm not at home! But this functionality will drain the power, maybe around 5% every day. Therefore, when I'm not using this power station. I need to manually turn it off. I hope they can add some automatic turn-off function to save the power in the future. Overall, this is a very good product for the money and gives you all the needs of a power station and also will amaze you with some of the fresh new features that other power stations don't have. If you are a fan of DJI and believe in their product. You'd better have a try!

Excellent device for camping with a CPAP machine.
For those looking to escape into the great outdoors for some camping/tenting but needing power for a CPAP or other device, you have found what you've been looking for. This should last for multiple nights, but if you want your CPAP to run about 3 times longer, then get a DC cable that is compatible with your CPAP. My testing showed that powering the CPAP via the AC cable adapter (for the AirSense10) vs the DC cable/car adapter I bought separately on Amazon, under similar conditions and CPAP settings (no heat, no humidity) took 35% for a 7 hour night (AC) vs 11% for the same duration (DC). Both were using a fully powered battery. So, I could have up to 3 nights with the AC adapter whereas I could have a week with the DC cable while also using it to pump airbeds and charge cell phones. For other devices, I found the battery powered as expected, easily running any device under 1000 w. Its illuminated display shows power in and power out (watts) and an estimate to 0% (hours) based on the instantaneous power usage. I would suggest that EcoFlow consider making that estimate time based on a moving average of power consumed over some window (say 30s) to give people a steadier gauge that is perhaps more useful. The device charges up rapidly, it is in a solid case, and is not very heavy. You will not be allowed with it on an airplane in the USA due to FAA regulations (same for Canada) because it contains too much power. TL;DR: This product works as described. Its rapid charge ability is impressive and its output matches expectations. I have found it to be excellent for CPAP and should last for days with heat and humidity settings off. The build quality seems excellent also. The camping accessory I've always wanted.
