A brilliant piece of kit at an unbelievably good price.
I bought this to replace a similar item from another source that had died on me after 3 years. I was a bit "iffy" about the Amazon Basics tag, but frankly I needn't have worried. It certainly has no frills, but this Bluetooth Audio Receiver is beautifully simple to operate, looks good, and performs brilliantly. It's "basic" in the way, for instance, that Apple products are basic. I've been using it to connect my Amazon Dot to my hi-fi system via my Pioneer Amp (using the Aux connections) and everything that I've tried has sounded really good. OK its inevitable that the sound quality is going to be constrained by the limitations of internet streaming, file formats and Bluetooth itself, but don't let that take anything away from what you get for less than £22. There is NO hiss or crackling (the specs on the Amazon site omit to make reference to its use of Bluetooth 4.0 technology) and even at higher volume levels the sense of presence is retained on streamed music that I'm able to compare directly with playing my own CDs. With the most complex music - loud orchestral or choral pieces, for example - there is a bit of muddying in the overall sound, but you can get that on CDs too, and I come back to my overall conclusion. A brilliant piece of kit at an unbelievably good price. Would I buy this again? You bet I would.

Poor Reception At Limits Of Range
Well made product which provides good quality audio reception. However, I had great difficulty in getting it to function close to the stated reception range and it was therefore unsuitable for my purposes. Absolutely no difficulty in getting a full refund from Amazon who provide five star customer service.

Spectacular value all round
This evening I have set up this device and connected two iPhones to it, simultaneously. This really is a little gem, the images don't do it justice with its size; it's very small and the top is glossy, comes protected with a peel away coating, making it very presentable from the front.Pros:- Audio quality is superb; makes full use of modern Bluetooth technology; I have a THX certified system and I'm not able to tell the difference between the speakers connected direct to the phone or through this hub.- Range is excellent; device at back of house and I can play audio from outside the front door, longer than advertised.- Small and smart- No static, no awful noises when nothing is connected either, just a tone to relay that a device has connected or disconnected.- Pairing took 3 seconds- No logos on it, you wouldn't know it was Amazon Basics- Packaging very tidy and not wasteful at all.- Audio cable included.Cons:- it would seem that auto connection between devices only works on the last device that was forced to connect. So if I want to connect the older device I must force; though this may be a limitation of Bluetooth and not something everyone would be too worried about- No power switch on device; if I have my phones Bluetooth in it will always connect at home now; I have to unplug the device or tell my phone to forget it.- incessant blue flashing light if nothing is connecting could be annoying. But we have it hidden away. Light is solid on when connected to a player.

Exceeded expectations.
I was considering buying a new, Bluetooth enabled amplifier, but as my current one is only 3 years old I thought I'd gamble £22 and I'm glad I did. As the name suggests it looks a bit basic and plasticy, but don't let that put you off, as it works brilliantly. It pretty much plug and play apart from pressing a button to pair devices, but this worked first time. I had read a lot of reviews before purchasing and one reviewer had said that the volume was rather low, but in my case the opposite is true, it is loud and clear. I use it to stream from my iPad and PC and I'm amazed by the quality of sound; I was fully expecting a noticeable reduction in quality, but it is crystal clear. One advantage this model has over its competitors is that it has a mains plug rather than being battery operated; I use a plug in remote controlled switch, so I can turn both the amp and the Bluetooth off when not in use. I'm very pleased - one of my better purchases.

The audio quality was incredibly bad
The audio quality was incredibly bad, tested on two devices: Macbook Pro and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Immediately decided to return within 10 minutes of listening

Don't buy for the Echo Dot
Nice enough little unit, low output (amplifier needs to be turned up high to get a decent music output) like most similar units.I bought it to use with an Echo Dot, but unfortunately the receiver automatically reconnects every time I ask the Dot to disconnect it. A quick search on google shows this is a common problem with quite a few BT receivers and Amazon hasn't addressed it in software for the Dot even though aware of it for over a year.Search Aukey BT on Amazon for one half the price that dies disconnect and is also mains and battery making it portable also.

Perfect way to get your music from handheld device to sound system.
Arrived a couple of days after I ordered it which was impressive. On opening the box I was surprised by the size of the main component and worried about the lack of buttons and controls. I should not have worried as it took a matter of minutes to connect this unit to my Bluray, which contains a 5.1 Home cinema Sound System. Two minutes later I had paired it with my ipod touch and my Amazon Fire. I could listen to my music from the ipod and listen to Amazon prime music from my Amazon Fire. The sound was great and I could move into another room with the source and the music was still playing without missing a beat. Since I have purchased it I have also paire 2 laptops, a tablet and a phone and everyone linked as easy as the first. Brilliant little Receiver and well worth the price.

Works, would be much better if it supported aptX
It works and is quite small and cute. The pairing button is rather nasty. The biggest weakness is that despite being Bluetooth 4.0 and using a CSR chipset, this device doesn't appear to support the aptX CODEC. Shame the product specification doesn't list the supported CODECS. Expect your device to use the lossy SBC CODEC.
