Very good taste

I purchased this system from Amazon, box said it was shipped from Pentair Filtration Solutions. I researched water filtration systems and decided to purchase this system because it is said to remove "oxidized iron, manganese and sulfides", that are plentiful in my well water (I live in central Florida). Received this system a week after it was ordered and it was the original box this system is sold in, not an assortment of parts that can be assembled to form this system, an option that seems to be available from a few other vendors who sell this system for the same cost or even more. Installation was super easy and no leaks at all. On first day, water is tasting like the RO water I used to buy in Walmart up to today. The test of time is the real test for a drinking water system. This filter set is supposed to last a year or 1000 gallons. In my case the year will come first. My well water is wretched and has the potential to stress any filtration system. I will come back to add to this review when it is time to replace the filter set, as soon or late this may be.Update - 8 months later: Water still tastes the same. I'm impressed. I pull at least two gallons or more daily but the year life time of the filters is 3/4 through. This is very good performance considering the type of water I run through this system.Update - 11 months later: Water still tastes the same but I replaced the 2-cartridge set because it is almost a year which is the recommended life time of this filter set. I purchased the replacement set here at Amazon and paid $199 with free shipping. Replacement was as easy as installation. Takes longer to prepare for it than to do it.

The faucet part is not included, otherwise the complete hardware package is included to splice this into the existing cold water line. This package came with two extra fittings to attach a faucet, which ended up not helping with the faucet I ended up getting, not really a big deal. Just make sure that whatever faucet you select has the 1/4-inch plastic hose push to connect female adapter.Water is fast flowing. The filter does not appear to resist waterflow at all, two months later this is still true.Perfect for our >600PPM city water and house built in 1890s. Taste is the standard bland that comes with most filters, much better than rust and chlorine.Two months in and the system is still as the day I put it in. This gets used alot more than I thought I would. Ice, coffee, cooking.

Although this unit came with one defective filter cartridge, the original supplier helped to diagnose the problem and arranged an immediate mfg. replacement of the filter set. The flow volume seems quite adequate and, most importantly to me, the water coming through this system seems completely devoid of Chloramine flavor, which still showed up strongly when I would carbonate the water from our previous system. So far so good!

Installed this under the sink with a dedicated faucet to serve both cold and hot water for drinking. The filter fits perfectly under the sink and also is easy to install. I installed this myself which took a bit of planning to figure the correct connections to the faucet. It basically required one trip to home depot for purchasing this additional connection. However, the unit comes with some of the most common fitting that are required.The taste of the water is much better using this filter and the water in Seattle is already pretty clean. However, this filter definitely purifies the water more and I can tell the difference between before and after with the reduced chlorine and other contaminants.
