Detailed but easy to follow
This book covers it all, from high level to all the equations involved, from tracking the sun to they layers of a solar cell, to efficiencies and energy storage. Way too much information for my brain but I was still able to learn at a higher level what's involved and how it all works.Well done to all the authors.

Excellent Intro To Solar Power
Good little book with some interesting wrinkles - For free so who can grumble , will give you an intro to the various types of solar and how it might be able to help you save money if you live in a sunny country, sadly not the UK and with tariff feed ins now reduced you won't save much installing solar now in the UK but this is a good intro so cannot realistically give it anything less than a full 5 stars!

Very detailed and all round great book.
The only thing that stops me from giving 5 stars is that I can't find answers for the exercises provided at the end of every topic so I can see where I have gone wrong. I've looked and looked and my apologies to the author if they are there but I don't believe that is the case. However I would recommend this book to anybody who wants to learn about PV.

Awesome.
Awesome book. A great examination of the subject from all points of view.Truly a must have.Arno Smets has done some a lot of research.Notably, he also provided a MOOC on the subject from Delft TU on edX.

Too focused on semiconductor physics
This book is mostly about semiconductor physics and very weak on solar PV design.
