Well balanced drill chuck, which performed well, even on a flexible drive shaft!
Potentially I was setting a steep challenge, using it to drill a series of holes in a restrictive space, and driven by a flexible drive shaft off an electric screwdriver ! My main concern was whether the chuck was going to be able to grip the drill bit sufficiently strongly to ensure it didn't spin when under pressure during the drilling. Well it performed very well, after taking up the slack on the drill bit, I gripped the chuck with a pipe grip on the outer knurled area and using some pliers on the chuck shaft just nipped it a bit tighter, and the result was a really good grip! The other concern was whether it would spin/vibrate out of the flexible 1/4" hex drive socket. I used a bit of alcan foil wrapped round the shaft and wedged it into my flexible drive shaft. Again a good result, it rotated and drilled in a very balanced way, no vibrations and I got a nice neat hole (on the roof of my cooker grill compartment!!). So a job which looked very difficult turned out to be much easier. So if you want a balanced drill chuck, you'll not go wrong with this chuck.

Not the best finish but I didn't buy it for its looks
Not the best finish but I didn't buy it for its looks, I bought it because my previous (well known and well finished) chuck broke off just above the threaded section of the shaft (admittedly I was using quite a large drill in a very awkward position). This item has a much more sturdy shaft at this point, and is more than accurate enough for my needs when drilling in restricted spaces. A good buy.

It works properly
Purchased for use with a small power screwdriver, primarily for drilling shallow holes in a narrow kitchen cupboard for shelf supports, (too narrow to access with ordinary drill). Worked well for this application, and will continue to be a useful addition to the toolbox for various small jobs when drilling small diameter holes in restricted spaces. Obviously this is not designed for heavy duty use, but is nevertheless well built and appears to be good quality

Just the job
I bought this to drill a tiny (1.5mm) hole very close to a wall, using my electric screwdriver and an extension piece. It worked perfectly. The chuck was beautifully centred and straight and I can see it being a valuable addition to my tool box.Not only for weird tricky jobs but for regular things like quick convenient swopping between pilot drill and screwdriver, for example.

Useful Tool but Lacks the Specified Precision
This is a handy little ‘pin chuck’ designed to fit hand held electric drills (corded and cordless). The chuck is mounted onto a hexagonal stem (approx. 6mm across flats) that can be clamped securely into a typical 0.5 inch drill chuck. The chuck mechanism is threaded onto the upper part of the stem and tightened by hand by gripping a knurled outer body of around 22mm diameter which achieves a good grip on small drills. The maximum chuck opening of 6.5mm is a bit redundant for most applications as use of the chuck on the main drill would usually be more appropriate. The usefulness of this chuck is for drills of around 3mm and smaller. The chuck can be closed down to grip a very small drill of 0.5mm or even less but I found that it was very difficult to accurately centre such small drills. There are two reasons for this:1. The jaws of the chuck do not close evenly as the chuck is tightened so that there is a great tendency for the drill to end up being gripped off-centre by two of the jaws unless the drill position is very carefully manipulated as the jaws are closed – see photo.2. On my chuck there is also an eccentricity between the threaded stem and the chuck body that causes eccentric rotation of the drill (this appears to be caused by the threaded hole in the back of the chuck body being off-centre relative to the main spindle). My experience is that these defects mean that the smallest drill size that can be used with any precision is around 1mm diameter – useful but nowhere near the manufacturer’s quoted minimum of 0.3mm.The chuck is not bad value given the very low price though personally I would prefer to pay twice the price for a chuck that met the quoted spec!

It's worth paying the extra money for a different one
We ordered this as it was one of the cheapest around and assumed they all did a similar job so didn't need to pay extra for a familiar brand (Bosch for example). Unfortunately this one has really let us down.It says it is a keyless chuck but you cannot tighten it enough by hand so the drill bit eventually comes loose from the chuck, stops spinning and often just gets stuck in the wood. I have tried tightening it with rubber gripped gloves to get a better purchase but still no luck. The shank also isn't fixed completely straight to the chuck so the whole thing is off centre which probably doesn't help either. This is a manufacturing fault so cannot be adjusted. We bought one of these after a friend had a Bosch one that they highly recommended but I could not find online - I will be looking for the Bosch one again!

It works OK
The hexagonal shaft is a bit too long. If the device you plug it into is a bit loose it wobbles. It would wobble a lot less if the shaft was shorter. This is clearly not so much a fault with the chuck as with the device it is attached to but the problem could be reduced with a shorter shaft. The knurling is a bit sharp making it a bit uncomfortable to open and close the chuck but it works well.

as it a very quick and easy snap change from a hex adaptor to a grip ...
This is a very small tool i purchased this item for my impact drill, as it a very quick and easy snap change from a hex adaptor to a grip adaptor. When drilling i find it quick swap to screwing, its save me time as i dont need the second drill with the quick and easy hex stem which simply slips in the chuck. Cheers its simple quick and inexpensiveRegardsShaun
