Philips LED Warm Glow E14 Small Edison Screw Dimmable Mini Globe Light Bulb, Clear, 6 W (40 W)

Bought this bulb in January 2019. It's now January 2025 and it's finally gone. Hours of daily use for 6 years. Very impressed. Was used in a bedside lamp and create a nice warm light. No flickering at all. Highly recommended.

These are a great bulb and dim nicely with my Varlight JPQ401W dimmer switch. The only downside is they a little taller and wider than standard golf-ball sized bulbs so you may find they don't fit well in smaller fittings. In my ceiling light they stick up approx 1cm higher than the old halogen bulbs.

I have a whole house full of different Philips LED bulbs and have always been pleased by the quality and longevity of their products. However, these bulbs do seem to have some manufacturing issues. I use them in touch-sensitive bedside lights in two bedrooms. I have noticed two distinct problems: 1. Some of the bulbs emit quite a loud buzzing noise, which is quite annoying when reading at night! This seems to only happen with certain bulbs. I ended up buying 7 of these bulbs and keeping the 2 that didn't buzz. 2. Even the bulbs that don't buzz may start to buzz after a while. I have noticed this with one of the bulbs that I kept. It seems that I can "cure" the problem by turning the light off and then on again. I'm not quite sure what is happening here, but perhaps some part of the bulb is resonating for some reason. If you get a bulb that doesn't buzz then these are really great, with excellent light and a long life - the oldest ones that I have are about 4 years old and are used every night. However, it may take a few tries before you find one that doesn't buzz.

Needed dimmable replacement golf ball style bulb for 3 lamp pendant “big light”. Really hard to get dimmable leds, had cheap ones but they seem to buzz. This works but is quite large so can see the top of the bulb over the glass shade. Works well as a dimmable bulb but can still hear some buzzing depending on the brightness of the light. Expensive for what it is. Will be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Absolutely brilliant lightbulb made for my bedside table touch lamp. This is to replace the one ihad in the lamp for over 10 years!!! And the lamp is used daily!. The price at £13 a little on the high side, but if this bulb also lasts 10 years then its good calue!!

We have a touch dimmer lamp from ASDA which has three brightness settings. I'd done some research on the internet following the standard filament bulbs that we've got from the supermarket constantly breaking! I've purchased the dimmable LED bulbs made by the supermarkets and also tried a £10 one made by OSRAM. The problem with all of them was that they either flicker when dimmed or give out a loud buzz. I'd read up that this bulb didn't do either of those so decided to give it a go. The result is that there is no flickering at any level! This is the major make or break issue for me and the bulb delivers on this point. The buzzing is not an issue! I'm not going to say that there is no buzzing but I literally have to stick my head next to the bulb and listen carefully and I can just about hear a very low buzz. This is in now way audible in usual circumstances so isn't an issue for me! The bulbs colour and power is just right for a bedroom light or in a front room for a cost dimmed light feel! A good purchase if you want a dimmable bulb that doesn't made your room sound and look like a buzzing disco!

Fantastic. Really attractive screw fit bulbs. Worked great with our touch sensitive lamps. Arrived well packaged in plastic boxes but they were easy to open if you follow the box instructions. So that was nice not having to get the scissors out!

Bought a variety of LED bulbs to test run in living room. These have been the worst performers (although some of the others are already showing other problems), after about 1 month started turning itself off, turning the light off at the switch would turn the bulb on again, for a while. Then at 2 months failed completely, I reckon that is 500 hours at most, it's also less than standard halogen bulb lifetime (at a tenth of the price) in the same fittings. When it works, the light is ok, not sure it is bright enough for a 40w replacement, but not bad. However the bulb is quite a lot bigger than a standard golf ball and the light comes out a lot further up and doesn't really shine down, result is only the top half of the shade on the fitting is actually lit. Again, this is the worst for this issue of the selection of bulbs I got. The fact the the bulb is almost sticking out the top of the light shade (which is wide and fully open) should make overheating unlikely, but the failure mode looks awfully like overheating. At the end of the day, these are expensive bulbs from well know mfr - I expected a lot better. Doesn't come anywhere near to paying for itself in energy savings. Glad I didn't buy more.

J'avais d'abord acheté des ampoules OSRAM avec le même système de blanc plus chaud quand on diminue l'intensité, elles ont bien marché mais pas longtemps du tout. Je me suis tourné vers ces Philips, plus chères mais la marque a meilleure réputation. De fait, la lumière est bonne, l'effet warm glow réussi, et jusqu'à présent elles tiennent bien. A voir sur la durée

Tengo una lámpara ventilador de techo del Leroy Merlín (modelo Inspire Aruba). Tiene luz regulable, y en los últimos meses tenía dos bombillas normales de bajo consumo que parpadeaban a menos que cambiara la intensidad cada vez. Con estas bombillas consigo el alumbrado deseado y lo puedo regular para dejar una luz ambiente ideal.

Die durchwachsenen Bewertungen schreckten mich anfangs ab. Denn Sie zeigen eine Ausallrate von ca. 50 % bei diesem Leuchtmittel. Da man defekte Produkte hier leicht umtauschen kann wagte ich mich dennoch 2 davon zu bestellen. Außerdem ist die Auswahl für dimmbare LED-Leuchtmittel sehr bescheiden. Die 2 Leuchtmittel befinden sich nun seit ca. 2 Wochen in unseren Touchdimmer-Nachtischlampen. Die Lampen haben 3 Dimmstufen bzw. 2 gedimmte und die 3. ist dann ungedimmt. Das funktioniert einwandfrei! Meine Freundin meint, dass sie in der dunkelsten Stufe leicht brummen. Wenn alles leise ist und man konzentriert hinhört ist es vielleicht wahrnehmbar, aber absolut nicht störend, auch nicht beim lesen und ich bin sehr empfindlich damit! Eigentlich ist die dunkelste Stufe sowieso zu dunkel zum Lesen ;) Ein Flimmern kann ich auch absolut nicht feststellen. Die Lichtfarbe und Helligkeit sind hervorragend! Im Prinzip wie eine normale Glühbirne mit 40 W. Wie lange sie letzten Endes halten wird sich zeigen. Aber bisher bin ich top zufrieden damit!

Lässt sich klasse dimmen, vor Allem auch die gleichmäßige Farbtemperatur, die bei minimalem Dimming in ein schönes, überaus angenehmes Extra-Warmes-Licht übergeht ist stark. :-) Leider machen diese LEDs erhebliche Brummgeräusche, vor Allem je mehr man dimmt. Hält man sich nahe an jenen auf, bspw. wenn sie als Esszimmertisch-Beleuchtung eingesetzt werden, stört das schon durchaus auf Dauer. Am besten ausprobieren ob man es nervig findet.

La verdad que en el aspecto luminico son exactamente iguales a una incandescente tanto en potencia como en brillo. Luz calida que no tira a amarillento.. En cuanto a la regulacion, me ha titilado alguna vez a la minima intensidad pero el 98% de las veces no lo hace. Aseguraos que el regulador trabaje con la potencia minima adecuada y por su por supuesto QUE SEA PARA LED. un saludo
